I'm torn! I am really interested in the new 600 engine and yet I look at that computer driven engine that burns diesel fuel and compare it to my 12 valve "real diesel" and am torn as to what to do. My truck has less than 100k on it, runs perfect and tows like a dream. My friends are all getting new trucks, one of my best friends just got a Duramax and upgraded it with the full BD power package. When I drove it, it seemed to be equal or slightly better than mine in the power department. I've only got the minimum upgrade (230/605) but it pulls really well. My friend admits his Duramax doesn't pull as good as his Cummins did but is still trying to talk me into a Chevy. That's a lost cause, I'm a diehard Cummins fan. I've got the cash to buy a new Dodge but I just love the "oily" sound of a real diesel clattering down the road. So, what do I do? I would like to keep my current truck and get a new one too but I need 2 trucks like a hole in the head. .

Take your money, do what ever you want to your current ride, (bomb it, lift it, paint it, etc) then blow the doors off your buddies $40K, 8 year newer truck, and grin from ear to ear. You only live once, you can always buy a new truck later, this year "600", 3 years from now when your buddies trucks are 4 years old you can always get a new 750???. It's your truck, your money, and your future, do what YOU want to do, but it is always sweet when an older rig blows away a newer one. :D Cheers

I agree, with the cash you have for a newer truck, you could go wild with bombs and have an awesome truck. Redo the interior or something like that, but don't get a new truck when you love your current ride. I wish I had the auto transmission upgrade in mine so I could turn up the power more and get the bug.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think maybe I'll keep it for a while yet. Who knows what will be announced for 2005 and 2006? With the power race going on between the manufacturers I'm sure the trucks will just keep getting better and I won't be sorry I waited a little longer...
