Protect All

:) If you want UV protection, a smooth wax-like finish, easy application,no rinsing, no soaping and no water and no scratching, then I highly recommend Protect-All. It comes in two forms: a liquid cream and a liquid that uses a capful with 1 1/2 gallons of water. Once you use this product, you'll never "wash" your truck the usual way again. You merely use a soft rag, wipe off a section of your vehicle at a time, wipe it off and move on to the next section. It is great for all the parts of your truck: rubber, vinal, chrome, and glass. It will take you half the time to do your truck. I prefer to use the cream as it is easier and quicker to use. You can buy it at only two places: Walmart, in the RV section, and at RV stores, like Camping World. An 8oz bottle(I think?) goes a long way. I like to buy the gallon jug from Camping World. The best price is Walmart (most don't sell the gallon version). Expect to pay around $8. 00.

I have a friend of mine that works at a very high end dealership in the body shop, I was told by him years ago that they only use shampoo, nothing with any additives. I been washing my toys for 15 years with suave shampoo. You can buy it anywhere for . 99 for med size or 1. 99 for the extra large. Think about it... if its gentle for you... then it definitely won't hurt paint. The suds are incredible too. let alone smells great. .

Wash your truck and your hair at the same time... :p

I dunno, one could make the same (really bad) argument for dish washing soap. Remember Madge the manicurist and "Your soaking in it now?"

:D ;) :D

By the way, hair soap really is pretty strong. I once had to wash about a pint of ATF out of my hair and Pert worked great. I'd rather not talk about how the ATF got there though. :{

As said before I'm glad i'm not the only anal one here, LOL.

I usually wash my truck twice,

rinse to get the gritty loose stuff off.

Zymol car soap and a wash mitt on the nasty parts using a light hand.

rinse

Zymol soap and a clean mitt to truly wash the truck.

rinse

chamois

Always use a 5-gallon bucket and rinse the mitt OFTEN, If you get a lot of grit on the mitt and it won't rinse clean grab another mitt.

3 words.......

Clay Bar, Clay Bar, and Clay Bar... ..... this is the most important thing you can do to keep you paint looking good. My friend owns a high end detail shop and he does the work on my truck and it looks pretty, better than when it was new... .

www.goodspeed.com is his website and he has a whole section on washing and waxing cars, he does sell the stuff but it is very expensive, but like other people have said I dont mind spending 25 bucks for a high quality wax to protect my 40,000 dollar truck... ... .

rjrepo Wow:--) , That is a great site :D Thanks.

I placed an order with Goodspeed Motoring and was very impressed with the line of products they have and I spoke with Jeremy Goodspeed at length, he is a very knowedgeable and pleasant person to deal with. I found their prices and shipping rates to be in line. Ordered yesterday and shipped UPS yesterday, can't beat that.
