So i'm pulling my trany out for the big rebuild and was curios to know what trany fluids are the rest of you guys with billet/high-end tranys using?? Are you using just the factory recommended fluids or are you using like a synthetic (if there is a synthetic trany fluid)?

Thanks

atf 4 either chrysler or vavoline ,dtt billet shafts sombody correct me if im wrong but i thought the chrysler atf 4 was synthetic ?

Dexron III here also. DTT Billet front/rear shafts accumulator and servo. I got tired of paying the high price of ATF 4 everytime i was having trouble with the transmission.

ATF+4 and yes it is synthetic. Since changing from ATF+3 which is very difficult to find anymore I think the DTT likes the stuff.

i just got mine but ill be useing redline had it in my tcase on the last truck and it did real well so we'll see how it does in the transmission

DTT with billet stuff... Royal Purple MAX ATF (synthetic). Break it in with cheap stuff... you'll be changing it in 500 miles anyway. Then go synthetic.

I had Red Line in my 90 T-Bird Supercoupe, changed it over at around 15000. By 30000 my transmission was toast! Don't know if the Red Line contributed, but I had more than a few people tell me they had similar stories.
