gonna be selling my 95 3500 soon and am going to get a newer truck and need some advice as what to get, I'll have about $21,000. to spend, I definetly want a 5 or 6 speed manual and a dually, should I get a 12v'er or 24v'er? any year I should stay away from? I'm going to be upgrading my 31' Jayco to a 5th wheel soon so I guess I'll stick to a 2wd so the bed won't be to high. any suggestions?

I would suggest staying with the 12V (properly valved) for simplicity, unless you like relying on computers for everything. The 97 or 98 were the best years of the 12V's, they also were prone to loossing the KDP:mad: , I jiged mine(see sig).

Just my opinion:D

You gotta love these 12 valves. I would go for a 98 if possible. 4WD on them may not be a problem with height. It seems to me I read something in the TSB's about DC making an adjustment to the later trucks for just that reason. May be thinking of something else though. Anyway, it don't cost nothin to ask. Good Luck!

I my opinion, the early 98 model with the 12 valve is one of the best trucks made, you get the good interior of today, with the good old 12 valve manual P7100 pump!!! A 4x4 extended cab dually early 98 model with a 5-speed is the truck of my dreams, but I take what God blessed me with, is this truck the perfect truck in anyone elses eyes???
