I have a 98 12v 3500 4X4. It will have 370s, 3k GSK, good set of DVs, ofe clutch, #10 plate, BHAF, 4" exhaust, just not sure what turbo to use. I need a turbo that will spool quick, and keep EGTs down. I dont want twins. What turbo do you think would work best. Are there any other modifications I should have done to make around 400-425. All help appreciated. Thanks

AMcKee, I have pretty much the same mods as you, except I have a Pier's cam, & ATS manifold. I am running HTT's HTB2 64/14. It is a pretty nice turbo, lights great, it lights at about 10psi, and goes straight to the wastegate, at 45psi. It will get a little toasty towing, unless you keep it in the 2000+ rpm range. When playing with it on the street, I can bury the pyro pretty quick, even with water injection. I am thinking of upgrading my 370's to an injector that has a better pattern, and upgrading the 64/14 to a 66/26(66/71/16). -Nicholas

Also on the last dyno run, I put 464/996 with my fuel screwing up and dropping off at 2400 RPM

SPS 62, I've got a truck running around with one and it works great for his application much better than a SPS 66 or a Silver Bullet as he Tow's up to 26K.

This particular truck did 496 with a stock turbo and water/meth but I don't have current numbers for it.

how much can the stock turbos produce normally? 350hp? i want to get a new turbo but im afraid of blowing the head gasket. and i know i would have to get studs. but how many people are running a bigger turbo without studs?

I think w/ the 370's and only 3,000rpm, you'd be better off w/ the 65mm turbine wheel (phat shaft 62 or HTB2/14)

I love my sps62, and I've run it w/ stock injectors w/ great results, but that was with a ported head. You are at low altitude, so it'd work well, but I use my truck for work and sometimes wonder how a smaller wheel or housing would act

I've been told that stock head bolts properly retorqued should hold to near 55 psi. If you keep your timing under 18 degrees at your low elevation you should be safe.
