i have have read around and have asked questions, is i have a idea of what i want to do. my truck currently has a EZ(on 3 of 3), F1 M 2. 5 injectors. now that the injectors are in i am now looking for a bigger turbo. i want to get a turbo that i can use in a twin setup later on(whan i have the money). i would like this turbo to be able to keep EGT's low(below 1200) while towing and if posible i dont want to have to turn the ez down, but i will if i have to. i need to beable to tow atleat a 10K on hills at altituede (tahoe). From what iv read i thinking maybe a dodgezilla 14cm. and then later on when i have the money i could upgrade to to a dz / b2 like from power by poole. my goal with this truck is to have 550 hp that i can use all the time with egt's below 1200. or is there a setup that would work better. what ever it is it needs to be relayable. will the dz 14cm work for my needs?

The HTBG works for my needs and I pull a trailer up Donner pass every weekend in the winter(only 2000lbs. ) However, for you, you may want to look at the HTB2 with a 12cm housing.

Adjusting the jumper on your EZ won't have any effect to speak of on your EGT readings. With the EZ and 2. 5s, you're probably around 360 - 370 hp. That's a pretty good range for a Dodgezilla, and an HTBG from High Tech Turbo with a 14? cm2 housing would probably work but you would have to change downpipes, and that gets aggravating.

Olee Poole can set you up with either of these units. Good thinking. ;)

I'm running a DZ 14 & I'm very pleased with it. It's a lot of spinner for the money.

DZ/14 towing 10k at altitude = very frustrating. Been there, done that, not gonna do it again. You'll be "under" the turbo below 2,000 rpm. So to keep the turbo working effectively, you need to be over 2,000 rpm. Getting things rolling with your auto and big tires will be fun, especially if you have a tight converter. With my low first gear that wasn't so much of a problem for me, but you'll be smokin' like a freight train and laggy as heck 'till you get above about 2k rpm. For me, I got fed up with the constant shifting to keep the revs up. I could pull some hills in 6th with the stock turbo that I needed to downshift for with the DZ/14.

A 12cm housing will pull things down a couple hundred rpms or so, but the DZ uses a very large and aggressive compressor which works great on the top end but drags quite a bit down low when drive pressures are down.

If you're wanting a great high altitude, heavy towing combo, (and since you're planning on twins anyway) keep the stock 35/12 and put your money towards a twin kit with a B2 and an external wastegate that'll use your stock turbo (Mark_Kendrick has made some good posts on this configuration in the past).

I have the DZ with the stock 12CM housing & I really like it for empty driving & for towing. Mine spools like stock & the boost is there way below 2000rpm with the 12 housing anyway.

EGT's were reduced by 125-150 depending on the load/rpm.

No noticable lag once it's broken in. My fuel mileage is better, I need some more runs to be credible, but I filled up today & tied my previous best, the first tank was 1+ better than I had ever seen towing before. If you need more cooling than that go bigger, but for me the DZ was a win/win, no downside.

We are having great luck with the Phat Shaft 62 on customers trucks that tow. This turbo would work well later if twins do come into the picture. Look here for more info.

If I can answer any questions please feel free to phone.

The DZ 14cm or HTT's HTB2/62mm with a12cm would work great as a single and work great in twins later down the road. Hard to get parts for Dodgezillas as of now But HTT has parts and is $100. 00 off there turbos.
