Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Turbo failure

I'm fixin to need a turbo. 33#'s of boost no problem and has made a funny noise in that range once or twice. I want to buy one turbo and be done. In the end 45 or so #'s of boost.

Can a PDR HX-35-40 with ? cm2 housing support this?

What's the difference between the PDR and Dodgezilla?

Is a PDR HX-40 more in this range?

Any other suggestions, I have installed a B-1 on a P/s ford as a whole big kit but it never makes more than 28#'s unwastegated. So I don't really know it 's potential.

What about the Switzer's?

Let me add to this. I realize that I will need more fuel as EGT's are not a problem. I plan on doing DV's and maybe cutting more off of the fuel plate.

What upgrade to the fuel lines should be done? what size? How to tie in to that thing in the fuel tank and increase flow?

Does the return line need to be increased as well?

Installing a pusher pump by the tank like the FASS HPFP (either a 95GPH or 150GPH), do you do away with the lift pump? Can I use the summit 140GPH (Part # SUM-G3134) fuel pump left over from my mud sling truck (it made 16-18PSI of fuel pressure when the regulator went out and washed down the rings)?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

More boost doesnt mean more air flow. Generally, larger turbos will produce less boost with the same fueling.

Look at the HTT line. they are upgradeable for cheap. your not stuck with one choice. Start with like the HTB2, and if you ever need more go to the Killer or the SP66.

The B-1 is a Schwitzer 300, I believe.

A B-1 is efficient to about 45psi, If I remember correctly. One of my buddys has one (a B-1-2) running 48psi on a 180pumped 12V. But I think it starts getting in-efficient above 45.

I dunno much about the dodgezilla or the PDR40.

HTT also carries the new holset Super 40. you may check into that. its a pretty good price.

I wouldn't get a HX-40, if you'll end up over 40psi. PDR sets the 'gates to 38#. I think a HTB2 w/ 'gated 12cm2 housing, would be your best choce, at this point. It will still support over 400hp, and spools MUCH faster than a 40/16w. One thing I don't care for with the HTB2 is, it is the higher pitched whistle, than a PDR 40. Although, the smaller housing may be a large part of it.

This may be adumb question, but what is the HTT line & where can I find information about these turbo's?

Thank you

a good line of turbos for driveability and durability is ADT's hurricaine series. i just ordered the cat 4, should be here anyday, cant wait to put it on. they are similar to piers line and HTT's line, just another option.
