Just got my truck worked on. I am running a VA,PM3,Stage II Bully Dog Injectors. Dynoed at 389rwhp ,Is this a Good Number for this Combo? Would a turbo upgrade Get me more HP? What would be a good Turbo to go with?

I laid down 520 with on a Dynojet with similar setup to yours. Stage 3 injectors instead and I have the 40/35 hybrid Stage 3 kit done by HT Turbo. Beauty and downside of that is I did it with only 21 lbs of boost. I need to find me a Dynojet 240. You should get lots more power with a little more turbo.

Stubbe, how do you like that VA piggybacked with your PM3? Did you try a run without the VA? I run the Blue Chip FMS which seems awful close in the way the PM3 works. Inquiring mind would like to know

So far I like the combo. I just got it yesterday. It is a huge jump in power when you turn on the pm3. I went from just a VA to Adding the injectors and PM the same day. Lots of smoke at low boost.

Thanks for the info Stubbe, I would like to get a timing box for my Blue Chip FMS and trying to fiquire out which one would be best for me. Appreciate the info!!

jRandol how do you like that turbo you just got. Did you get a wastegated housing?Dose a person need a wastegated housing? What would this turbo do for my EGT's. Did you have your turbo completely gone through? What size of houseing did you opt for?

Stubbe, I'll tell you when I first put it on I was very dissapointed. But it seems to be working much better now that I have a few miles on her. Mine has the Non-Wastegated 16cm housing on it. I did the stage 3 kit which gets you the largest 40 wheel (6 blade too. ) I dont know what it would do for your EGTS but is certainly wouldnt hurt them! Mine is a bad one to gauge on since I did Exhaust and turbo 1 day apart from each other. I have to say it pulls REALLY hard after a little boost is built, much more than my old HX35 with 12cm. When I sent the turbo off I asked them to call me if they thought the turbo needed to be gone thru (HT Turbo) I was told my turbo was in great shape so I didnt need that. Personally, I dont worry about not being wastegated, I watch that stuff when I am into it pretty good. Some people say its a must but it doesnt bother me any. Hope this helps some!

Bob I'm not sure I am just trying to figure out which way i want to go. Looking for opinions. I don't tow a huge amount nor do I drag race. It is my work truck and daily driver. Trying to find a reasonable way to lower my Egt's and make a little power. How long should a turbo be good for?

Stubbe,

I've got a PDR 40 and was a little dissapionted with the lag. Like you I just wanted some more power while giving up a minimal amount of drivablity. I've got a KSB1 that will be here later in the week and I'll let you know how that works out.

While a HX-40 would fit your bill CFM wise, as many have said, you will see some lag. Our new Jammer may offer a better scenario for you at your power level. More CFM than a 40, better reliability and quicker spool up. Something to think about.

Hey Keith, I have heard some good things about this Jammer. Can you elaborate a little on what it is? I havent seen one in person yet. Is this similar to a 40/35 hybrid? You guys sure do come out with alot of cool and innovative stuff!

The Jammer is the turbo Lawrence built up for the 03 trucks. Now that we have some supply of them, we have released them to be used on the earlier trucks as well.

Outflows a HX40 in CFM, spools better, better bearing package, more reliable and can be used from 300-500hp applications. Broader compressor map than a 40.

this turbo your talking about . would there be any advantage of useing it on a stock engine with no other bombs?
