last week I needed to remove a hose on the driver side of the heater core behind the engine in front of the auto. transmission. Very hard place to access. I tried to remove the clamp on the hose with every type of clamp removal tool I had and many types of pliers. I finally had to cut it off with a Dremel tool. In doing so I nicked the hose. It had the length I could cut off some and still use it. This is a black hose very flexible that connects to the heater core and the black metal pipe that runs behind the engine to the passenger side.

It would be nice to know what type of tool is needed for removal. I see this being an area that will need some service as this is a very soft hose. To access this area I removed the fender liner on the driver side and had the truck on stands.

Input appreciated.

The tool in Geno's catalog appears to be the correct one. I am not sure if there is enough room to use it in the area of the hose I was trying to remove. It appears they install the heater core and hoses before setting the body of the truck on the chassis.
