VP44 from cummins

Heading to Bridgeway Cummins tomorrow morning to see about having the VP R&Red. :{

Will they have the HRVP? or will it be a generic stocker.

How many hours with the labor pay?

Any guess-timates?

Because I'm leaving for the Peoples Republic of Kaliphornya in a couple days I didn't have time to play around with the VP, and didn't want to be stranded on the road.

$2000 for the VP :{

$500 labor :{

In and out in 2 hours.

OUCH!!

Anyone want to buy some H-2 wheels?

I think they are bucking you on the labor time, Dodges time to r&r a VP44 is something like 1. 12 Hrs. Just had mine done a the dealer, and they even painted it black to match the block.

Actually, I think I got boned on the parts. I think they jack up the price.

I asked about the labor, the guy said it pay 4 hours, no matter how long it takes

You buy a brand new VP? I could have sold you a HRVP cheaper than that. For that matter I could have sold ya a reman pump for under a grand. The book labor is 4 hours, that they will charge ya, I only charge a couple of hundred. I really hate seeing people get taken over a POS pump like the VP44.

Later Jim.

I have never seen it done, but I am on my 4th pump under warranty and only have 8000 miles left on my warranty, so it looks like I just might have to learn to install a new VP when I become my own warranty station. From what I have read it is not that hard, I have worked on big dump trucks and tractors in the past, so it will just be one more thing to do for experience. Oo. :D

I do HRVP44's installed for less than $2k! Hate to pour salt in the wound but you got taken advantage of in a bad way. Tough luck, but now you know better! I've learned a few lessons that way myself.
