NM is Dodge country, I pride myself on my truck and rarely take a second look at a ford. This one made me look twice... . or LISTEN twice I should say. He was parked beside a stop sign idoling and I could hear his turbo over my truck! It had a very smooth sweet sound and was singing nicely. It kind of reminds me of when the older semi's would let off the pedal in 2nd or 3rd gear and you could here the turbo spooling down. Was a very nice, smooth LOUD (I wont say whistle because it was much toneir than that) sound. What did he do? What turbo is that? I guess it suprises me the most that he had it in park and I could hear it in my truck

Guess I'm not familiar with fords, but my truck is straight piped and I don't even get close to a turbine sound like that. :(

Yep I have heard that sound. I have a couple of friends with the new 6. 0. One cut the muffler and cat off the day he got the truck and you can defanatly hear that turbo threw the pipes, I can be sitting in the school parking lot and know its him coming up before I even turn around to looks its that difrent. Another cut off his muffler and took the cat that we cut off the first one, hollowed it out and welded it up in place of the old cat, it has a totaly diffrent sound, I think that with the hollowed out cat it creates a resonator and makes a claping or clatering sound (kind of like glass packs on old gassers). If I had to chose between the two I would take the first one with no muffler or cat.

Yeah it sounds kind of like those sound bites  , his was not as "screetching" but more of a mellow sound. Sure he just had a different size pipe or different muffler. Now I'm disappointed :D

Last weekend a Ford was tailgaiting me a little, so I smoked him. What else was I supposed to do? Well he got beside me at a stoplight, but there was a car in front of each of us so we were held back. This road is a drag racer's heaven. 65 mph speed limit, wide and fairly staight, with stoplights. :) Well after we got around the cars he gets on it. It instantly spooled and was loud. He got a little jump on me, and I could only keep up. Could'nt gain an inch up to 85 or so. So if I only have a Drag Comp and he could'nt pull me, then it does'nt take a whole lot to make the turbos sound loud. I did'nt hear him while sitting still though.

Hopefully they sound better in person. Those short clips sure made the engine sound kinda sick. Not impressed at all. 7. 3 sounds MUCH better.

They don't sound that much better in person, the Sick Point Oh's I mean, you can really hear the turbo but the engine sound seems very high pitched compared to a Cummins or 7. 3.

I can't claim that as mine, Jeff! Heard it somewhere on here before, it is a good nickname for em though. I call their sound similar to a sewing machine with a bunch of parts rubbing together :)
