In 1983 my first car was a fairly nice'73 Plymouth satellite Sebring with a 400 magnum and pistol grip 4speed, bought with my own money a full year before I was old enough for a license. At barely over 100k miles its the lowest milage rig I own  Its been parked for several years but last week my wife added it to the insurance just to provide some motivation to resurect it :)

My first car, in 1965, was a '46 Chevy Panel Truck. My girlfriend's dad owned a small junkyard and talked me into buying that truck and also a '56 Pontiac 4-door. I pulled the entire drivetrain out of the Pontiac and welded it right into the Panel Truck in High School Ag. Shop. Our Ag. teacher, Mr. Greib, didn't much care what we were welding on, as long as we were learning to weld! He was a good guy. I put a roll bar and 3-deuces on that old truck and had a lot of fun. It didn't have a Title, and being young and dumb I didn't know how to get one, so I just took it out on the country roads. My brother gave that truck away in the mid-1980's!

In 1974 I picked up a '65 Ford Galaxy 500 Convertible with a 390 4bbl roller cam and 4 on the floor. Was an open diff so the back end stayed straight but you could lay down a line of rubber with ease. Front tires lasted forever. Got about 5000 miles off a set of rears. Rebuilt the motor twice. 3 trannys. Then I sold it just before going off to boot camp for $500 (had to pay for the 130 in 55 zone speeding ticket - would have went to jail if not for my prior enlistment). :-laf

1953 Desoto, Firedome Hemi, Fluid Drive, 4 dr. sedan. About 4600 lbs. Pw. Steering and brakes. The radio had a scan function even.

Chrysler was first in more things than we can count.

Makes my ticket for 95 in a 55 (passing through Gila Bend Az on Interstate 8) seem mild in comparison! But the second thing the Trooper said to me (after, "do you know how fast you were going") was "have you ever been to jail"? :( Not Good,, Not Good at all!!! I was saved by a girlfriend who professed to not know how to drive a stick shift!!! :D No longer have the girlfriend or the 280z!!

:) First car 31 Chev 2dr sedan, paid 25 bucks for it. it ran but was rusty and smoked real bad. Second was 46 Merc coupe neat car. Third 50 Olds sedan with V8 & stick shift. Next was 54 ford convertible, Then my favorite a 57 Austin Healy. Masny more since then but all family rigs. Wished I had them all back, especialy the Healy and the 54 conv. Bought the 31 chev when I was 14 and could only sneak out on the dirt roads with it. As you might guess I am growing long in the tooth. (64).

First vehicle was a 1997 (or 96) Green Ford F150.

Nice truck and 5 speed to boot, w/Inline 6 300.

I still have fond memories of that truck.

First Purchased:1974 INternational 2wd Pick-up (still have what's left of it!!)

First Purchased and REGISTERED: 1972 Olds Cutlass 2 dr. Hard top Coupe-got rid of it before I killed myself-but had fun coming close!!

In 1975 I bought a 67 Chevy II SS(Nova for you youngsters). I sold it in 81 and cry every time I see one on the road. Can't afford to buy one like it now. :(

1967 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed,p/s,p/b,a/c and get this... factory 8 track player...

Sold it right out of high school and then bought it back 8 years later. Pulled it all apart and rebuilt it. Finished it in time to bring my daughter home from the hospital when she was born and then 2 years later I brought my son home in it.

But like a big dummy I sold it... . Now from what I was told it is sitting in a carpeted garage and only driven on the weekends...
