Gentlemen: what will it take to convert a `92 from the getrag transmission to say NV-4500 or even a 5600 trans. The getrag is on the way out again, just want to get rid of it!

Several vendors offer kits to make the change easy. I know a guy who got the stuff from Standard Trans and everything went together easily.

I just converted a gruman olsen van to a6 b. It had chevy 350 auto. The motor i got from this site is an 89 with getrag. I took that bell houseing had the center hole machined out to match nv 4500. I then took one inch by three quarter al. bar stock cut and fit to lie flush right and left of mounting base and welded on. then set bell houseing on new trany and center punch holes for drilling and taping. I then bought heavy duty clutch assembly from napa and re cut original fly wheel. Total cost for machine work and welding about 150. Works great and simple!
