Am I likely to hurt my transmission with an EZ and a HX35 with boost elbow in an empty truck. I never haul anything and I'm very gentle with it when towing (max. is approx 4000lbs). I put on a turnbuckle today and got 30psi out of my HY and 1000* on the EGT pre turbo. and that was running empty on flat road at about 65*F. I'm really hoping the HX will allow my temps to drop somewhat. Is this a reasonable expectation? I'd like to have the ability to play around some and not have to keep an eye on the EGTs or worrying about my lil' HY damaging itself. from what I've been reading it seems like the HX will help me more than a 4" exhaust with the HY, is this correct?

Yes, I think the HX will help you EGT wise more than a 4" exhaust. If your stock AT is healthy, then I think you will be OK with the EZ and a bit more boost.

I ran an ez and rv275 injectors with my hy and a 4inch exhaust with the stock transmission for 115k before I upgraded my trans. My stock trans still worked fine at that point. The hx will help some with the egts but you may experience a bit more lag with the 12cm housing compared to the 9cm the hy is using.

how did you install that turnbuckle. After I punch my truck I can almost finish eating a sandwich before my turbo spools up and the truck go's. I'm wondering if put in that turnbuckle I could keep a little more speed in my spool. ?

hi maken

do you have a box? i. e. Edge EZ or something comparable? the EZ made the most improvement I think than anything else you could do as far as throttle response is concerned. it is amazing on any setting compared to stock.

Any way about the turnbuckle... . I just went to the hardware store and bought a 1/4 by 7. 5" hook/eye turnbuckle and replaced the eye with a 1/4" J/hook bolt that they sold right beside the turnbuckles. it installs on the lower side of the wastegate actuator and on the wastegate arm itself right beside where the arm from the actuator attaches. you have to get it pretty close to the right length before putting it on as there isn't a lot of room to get your hand in there to turn the buckle very easily. but all you have to do is just snug it up and there you go. but if you don't have a "chip/reprogrammer" the engine will defuel once you hit 19/20 lbs of boost and as the boost flashes past the factory limit you'll set an overboost code. don't know how to get rid of that or what it will do to your engines performance. by the way the turnbuckle only cost 1. 67 and the "J" bolt to replace the eye bolt was only . 80!!

Twiisted71;

No I don't have a box. So i'll leave that factory feature alone, sounds like all it would do is de fuel and set codes. Not what i'm trying to accomplish. I'll have to read on... Thanks for the info, i'll file it for future reference.

I've tried quite a few products including the edge (which i still have and use). BUt if you want fast spool up... nothing i've seen compares with the smarty catcher programs.
