is there anybody who knows what wire on radio is the keyed power wire... I sparked a wire on the main wire harness while installing my banks six gun, and now my radio doesn't work it is still getting power cause it will eject CD's and such so I am almost certain that it is the keyed power I believe I will just find that wire and hook a jumper from another keyed power wire any suggestions let me know!

Doesn't say in your sig what year your truck is. This is for 05 but I reckon it is probably the same.

Into the connector on the back of your radio there are two fused wires. Both colored Grey/Red. They are spliced together somewhere up the line and end up at Fuse 51 which is 20A.

The Run-Acc lead into the connector is Pink/Yellow and goes to PTC 2 which is 4. 5A. PTC is a solid state, auto-reset, circuit breaker.

I can only say what the colors were on the adapter, didn't have to look what the colors were coming into the plug.

Yellow= battery

Red= ACC

Orange= Dimmer Illumination

Black= Ground

Hope that helps.

I see from JWolf's schematics that the wire colors are different between 03 and 05. So the fuse number and PTC number I gave might also be different... .

You will see some black dots in the JWolf schematics labelled S204 and S212. Those are splice points and from those will be a connection back to the Integrated Power Module (the fuse box and the front control module). The front control module is built into the fuse box and the PTC will be a part of that circuit board, I doubt the PTC is replaceable and it shouldn't need replacing since it should reset.

But in an 03 it might not even be a PTC, could be a plain old fuse. If somebody with 03 schematics will provide the info on the fuse box end of splices S204 and S212 that would be great.

I'm having a problem where my electric door locks, map lights and other ignition-off items won't work once my truck warms up (they will still work with the ignition on). After looking at scematics, I'm thinking it might be the PTC #2. I searched and found this thread. Would the PTC "go bad" and if so, does this mean I have to change the front control module? Or is this indiciative of some other wiring problem causing the PTC to trip. If so, any ideas what might cause it. My truck is 4 years old now with 72k miles, which is low mileage I guess for a CTD.
