i recommend soldering it as well. i had a high rpm miss until i soldered it. not easy... actually soldering it was not real difficult but sealing it up tight after was a stunt. can't get heat shrink on a 3 way tap. i used a piece of vacuum tube; sliced it legthwise and then tiewraped it nice and tight. was paranoind i was going to break it the whole time. if i had it to do over again, and i might have to if i ever lose a inj pump, i'd have spent the 50 mor 60 bones on a stealth cover. appears to be "the solution" to the tapped IP.

i think it's made by BD. i've seen it for sale on many diesel parts sites for around 60 bucks. i need to be clear that i've never used it but it does look like a good idea.



its simply a replacement cover for the top of your VP44 injection pump, but it has a wire terminal on it that makes the tap "better" and "easier" and definately more condusive to disconnecting and reconnecting if you're like me and messing with your trucko all the d@mn time.

Thanks foolkiller, Yes I do mess with it everytime I have a spare minute. Not much left to do to the 99 unless I start in with bigger turbo and drugs. Not going there. So it's time to do the 02. I think it will be well worth the money. I took my time on the 99 and was very carefull but have always had concerns with the wire connection. It's worth the $$ just for the peace of mind. Thanks. I will call DEPO tomorrow as they carry most all the BD parts. Thanks for the tip. Betty.
