What would be a good $$$ for this trailer?

Can you guys look at this and tell me what a good price would be? I called them and they said that they would end the auction early for $14,995 and also if I didn't want the Hensley Hitch - it would be $1,500 less. My truck is set up for towing BUT I have no drawbars etc - is it worth $1500 for the Hensley setup????

I know it's great for normal vehicles - not sure if I would benefit much from it over just getting other hitch stuff -- ADVICE PLEASE!!!!

As to the Hensley, It is New for $2800 so yes it is worth it. For any trailer up to 14,000 #



If you are familiar with the operation of it, It Eliminates the rear sway and has the WD bars. The neat thing is the bars stay on the trailer all the time. All you do is hook up to the front tow bar with the lock over tabs and lower the trailer weight on the truck and you are set to go.



As for installing the Hensley, It takes a bit but all you need is a drill, a couple wrenches and a little time to make sure everything is set up right. The front orange head has to be fairly square with the tongue and the upper strut bars has to be snug before towing. Other than that, it is easy to install. The head unit weighs about 100-120# Thats the heaviest piece. They say for initial install, put the unit on the tow bar on the truck and back under the ball, Lower the trailer on the ball untill it is just down on it. Then install the Spring bar jack mounts with U-Bolts. The drilling is you need to put in the Shear bolts for the Jack mounts. Takes a couple of hours to do it... .



Once you get the hang of hooking up with it, It is almost faster than just with a ball.



The procedure I do for hooking is:... ... Make sure the head unit is close to the angle of the tow bar which is on the truck by adjusting the screw jacks..... Back the truck into the head unit and lock over the bars to the tow bar. (tight is like a vice grip locking, not too hard) Then adjust the jack bars by screwing them tighter (this you will have to find out how much by your situation. Then and only then do you let the trailer weight down on the truck. and finish hooking up the other stuff.



This Hitch if you can get it for $1500, snap it up. That is half price... .

From what you posted I can only give you IMO sence I have never towed anything with a Hensley: Unless you are going to tow a TT longer than 30ft and is heavy like 10K or more the Hensley is over kill. Also you better figure on getting a class five receiver and alot of extra time hooking and unhooking. Im pulling 8000lbs with the standard stuff just fine

I own a SunnyBrook and love it. We paid less than that for ours, but ours is older, so their price is probably in line.



SunnyBrook makes good equipment, no doubt about it. From the pictures I see nothing I'd be afraid of.



Will they allow you to back out of the purchase if you see anything not disclosed in the add when you get there to pick it up?

That always has been a problem to me of buying something like this without actually inspecting it or having been so done by somebody you trust.....

Looks Like the Hensley is already installed on the trailer from the pic. The only thing you need to do is get the right pull bar for your truck. My trailer sits up a bit so I needed a 4" riser so the bar comes out of the hitch, goes up 4" then straight out to the Hensley head.



You might be able to get away with a bar that comes straight out from the hitch or a 4" drop.



If the tongue weight is not over 1000 lb wet and loaded, your class 4 hitch you have is fine otherwise you can go get a class 5 if you want.



So it looks like you don't have to do anything to that railer including the hitch except for the pull bar.



Towing with the Hensley is a pure dream, No sway at all and truck passing don't make it a white-knuckle flight and waggle around. In High winds, when you come out of a canyon, there are possible big Gusts... ..... and I have Personally seen 4 or 5 Rv's and even 1 towing a smaller boat, blown over from wind and all were near canyon mouths or in an area where strong wind happens. . So for piece of mind it might be overkill but $1500 for the hensley or a loss of $15,000 if you wreck 10% sounds like good cost.....

If you're patient and look around, you can probably beat this price. You don't need any special hitch. I pulled a 26 ft trailer with my truck. Weighed about 6000 lbs. Couldn't hardly tell it was behind me. Also, I've heard good things about Sunnybrooks, but there are lots of other good ones out there also.

I would just watch the auction. It will never hit 15000. Sunnybrook may be a good brand, but its only a 26 foot. I can get a new 26 foot trailer around here for under 10000. I spent a few years in the rv industry and the new units have HUGE mark up. Shop around you can get a much better deal.

Have you tried RVNADA.com or NADAGUIDES.com ? as for the hitch it is one of the best to fight sway. Good Luck
