New Home advice

There seem to be quite a few know it all's on this board in the political arena on both sides of the issues. So what I want to know, is if you were president or had the power to "Make" things happen, what would you do. Be honest and intelligent about it and leave politicing out.

To start it off, here's a few of the things I'd love to do/see happen.

1. Cut off all foreign aid. To me this is one of the biggest wastes of our tax dollars.

2. Kill Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Families are there for a reason, if you childen won't care for you when you are elderly or you ****** away your money while working, guess what. It's your fault, you should have saved better and taught your childen morals.

3. Get rid of the gun laws. We have the right to protect ourselves, who gives a flying flip if were thought of as cowboys, where do you think the term came from, "We are the inventers of the "Cowboys".

4. Cleans the law books of most of the stupid laws that are currently out there.

5. Abolish political parties, if you can't run for office on your own merrits without big backing, then you don't deserve the spot.

6. Close off our borders to illegals, if they are caught, shoot them. That will make them think twice about coming in illegally. We have procedures to coming here, follow them.

7. Remove the rights of corporations, they are not people and do not deserve the right to be treated as people. ie: no political power, no "Rights" as in individual peoples rights.

8. Put a cap on lawyers fees, and fine them big time for frivilous lawsuits. These fat lawsuits, and other "Stupidty" suits have got to stop.

9. Require every law or contract be written in plain english that a 12th grade educated person could fully comprehend. None of this crap that's generated with hidden meaning or fine print.

10. Replace the tax system with a purchasing tax. Those that spend, pay the tax.

11. Make English the national language, if you don't speak it, learn it at your own expense, were not going to waste money on teaching it to you, you chose to be here.

Well, I think that's enough for the first day's worth of work. So lets see what you think is so important.

Lessee, if I was King of America (since President doesn't have enough power to pull this off) -

1) Agreed to a point. Some of that foreign aid goes for things the US has a direct interest in keeping around. We just need to decide which of those things should stay around.

2) Agreed but for Social Security - that's OUR money even more directly than Medicaid/Medicare - even though I doubt there will be any left by the time I retire :( And not everybody has a family or is able to save up well.

3) Can't do it - too many folks who shouldn't have guns would be able to get them penalty free. You cannot remove ALL the regs on guns.

4) SOMEbody musta thought any particular law was necessary - they don't make laws for the fun of it. Which ones would you get rid of?

5) Without parties (or some other similar organization), you cannot easily put together the money to get your message into the minds of voters. No parties might work at the town level, but there's no way to pull it off at the national level.

6) Agreed, 100%. Well, maybe not with shooting them, unless they're committing some other crime. If you're here legally, hey, enjoy the American life - if not, be prepared for an uncomfortable ride back to wherever you came from.

7) Can't agree with that - they serve too many purposes in our economy.

8) Agreed, though one mans stupid lawsuit is another man's life. We need somebody capable of telling which ones are stupid.

9) Agreed, though I'm sure there's plenty of situations that are simply too complicated for a 12th grade education.

10) The problem is, purchases are a much higher percentage of income at lower income levels. This would shift almost all the tax burden off the rich - which would never fly here!

11) Agreed, absolutely.

What else would I add?

12) A state trooper or police officer should have a bloodalyzer capable of taking an instant, accurate blood alcohol reading. If you get caught drunk driving and you redline the machine, you go to jail and your car is impounded. If you injure or kill somebody, the trooper gets to shoot you on the spot, and your car goes to the familys you damaged.

13) We need to make all death penalty cases 100% accurate, so there's never a question about why we put a criminal to death.

14) Speed limits should be adjusted (outside school zones) for the 85th percentile of the speed of drivers on any particular road.

Interesting points- I'd settle for just one that was not mentioned:

TRUTH IN SENTENCING

None of this " 1 to 20, out in 6 mos. "

You do the crime, you do the time!

Yes, I agree with that one. How 'bout,

16) National 3-strikes law - commit that third crime, go away for a long time.

17) If you develop land, you must provide sufficient money to the locality to pay for the streets, sewers, schools, and other services that will be needed by the folks that either live in your development or work there. Enough of these traffic-choked streets and crowded schools!

We are fortunate to have a 'somewhat' representative government divided into three branches.

Look at the power and controls that are in effect for each branch.

We have too many Federal Judges trying to make rulings now that violate the will of the populace.

Today - 50 million people registered to have there names placed on a DO NOT CALL list and some Federal Judges in Oklahoma decided that the FTC has overstepped their jurisdiction by allowing that to happen.

50 million people is a large number of potential voters. Some judges just need to be put out to pasture!

Well, it might sound a wee bit too extreme for some...

But if I were President, World War 3 would have already been fought and ended. Immediately after absolute proof of who was behind the September 11th terrorist attacks was brought to light, I would have completely turned a very large portion of the face of the earth into a vapor cloud. Most of the middle east and northern Africa would no longer exist. Period. And I would have gone on world television to tell every human on the planet that from this day forth, even the slightest act of terrorism would meet with a similar and instant response.

Yes, it would be a terrible price to be paid, but it would absolutely rid the world of 99% of organized nut cases.

No more piece-meal negotiations and half hearted, doomed attempts to end the non-sense. Peace through superior firepower and ABSOLUTE retaliation!!

End of rant :D

Move election day to April 16th.

End witholding for all income taxes. Let's all start writing monthly checks to the state and federal governments.

Make "Atlas Shrugged" required reading in every High School in the country.

No one can be fertile until they're 30. :)

Morph,

I agree with everything. However, the FIRST objective that needs to be accomplished is to make sure the Presidential Motorcade is CUMMINS POWERED!!!:-laf :-laf

While I agree with allmost all your sentiments, unfortunately allmost NONE of what you propose are with in the power/prerogative of the president :>(

Only a Confederate American Would Like This

I agree with Morph on his issues, but I"d go way out on a limb.

1. Presidential decree stating that the War for Southern Independence was an illegal war initiated by the Union as an aggressor nation. All history books on this subject would be destroyed and an accurate history of the war including the real truth behind why it was fought, the dishonorable acts committed on Southern soil during the war, and the lies and propaganda spewed by Northern opportunists after the war to cover up their actions would be taught in schools.

2. The 13 former Confederate states would have the option of leaving the Union if approved by it's voters in an election. The border states would also have the option of voting to "opt-out. "

3. All former Confederate states, regardless of their decision to stay or go, shall be compensated for 138 years of oppression at gunpoint, tyranny by a conquering nation, and near cultural genocide. The amount of compensation shall be negotiated by each state.

4. All public and private schools would again have prayer returned to the classroom. The official religion of both the individual Southern states and the rest of the US would be Christianity.

5. The official language would be English.

6. All immigration would be curtailed. Construction of a 15' high concrete wall from the mouth of the Rio Grande Rv. in TX along the southern US border to the Pacific Ocean shall be constructed with access points strategically located. Armed patrols by the US military and Border Patrol shall commence.

7. All international trade agreements would be null and void. Let's put AMERICANS to work and turn our economy around.

8. All foreign debts shall be repaid immediately. That means that France, Germany, and pretty much all of Europe that we've given billions of dollars to help them out of jams (i. e. WWII, and others) will be repaid.

9. All troops stationed overseas shall be withdrawn. The US shall become a neutral nation. Let the rest of the world fight each other and crumble. It's time we quite fighting the rest of the world's wars. If you want to start some trouble come over here and we will be happy to spank you back to the stone age. Like the President Jeff Davis, CSA said in 1861. . "we ask but to be left alone. "

10. The US shall no longer be a part of the UN. UN offices shall be relocated somewhere else (another country), and it's headquarters shall be vacated and used for low-income housing.

12. The federal court system shall be abolished, as will the offices of the IRS, FBI, ATF, EPA, CIA, etc. Funding previously used for these offices shall be forwarded equally to each state. Responsibility for duties performed by these agencies shall fall on each state.

13. Ideas previously mentioned would be considered.

I'm a firm believer in less government and states rights. It's long past time for this country to get over itself and start getting back to the principals that the founding fathers stated in the Constitution of the US and CS.

1st thing I'd do, would be to give Monica a call... ... ... ... ... ... .

Should have bought the Berlin Wall we could have got it cheap.

You forgot the Northern border, we could put people to work building it.

And I don't think 15' is tall enough.

No gun laws? People sure would be more respectful. Would you rob a bank, if everyone in the bank was armed?

We live in a free society(hahhahahahahahahahahahahahah) sorry had to laugh there. Part of living in a free society is dealing with the wackos, pshycos etc. A lot of our problems can be traced to a change, a change from that free society we all cherish to a not so free society. One in which the Gov tells us more and more, what to do, what to think, and what to say. Take our northern neighbors, they now have a law either on the books or working its way there, about freedom of speech, where it would be illegal to say anything disparaging about someones sexual orientation (PC). We have hate speech laws now, will this trend end? Its doubtfull, I see us heading down the road to this benign Utopia. Remember this country was founded by people (Men and Women) who demanded freedom, not Gov handouts. You the people don't need the Gov, THEY NEED YOU.

I find it interesting that the majority of the stuff on Morph's list is stuff that the FEDERAL government never had the power to enact in the first place!! That brings us to Rebel's post.

Too bad the vision was lost :(

I think that's a fundamental argument (Federal rights vs. State's rights) that's been going more and more to the Feds since 1865. In defense of the Federalist system we've evolved into, I don't think the individual states could run things in our country like the Federal govt. can.

I don't know, california's giving them a good run for thier money on who can run the people into the ground the fastest.

Actually the states would be better off. That's the reason that I included in my platform to continue government funding until the states learn how to manage themselves. I personally think each state knows what's best for it's inhabitants a lot better than some bureaucrat in Washington DC. Steve put it best. . all of the things that are on my list to abolish are things that federal government has no business performing. There in no law in the Constitution for a Federal Court in any state... only territories and Federal Districts such as DC. They have no business being there, threatening the citizens of this country into submission. Government by gunpoint can never work, which is where we seem to be these days. If you stop to look, the federal government has inched it's way into every aspect of our public and private lives, so much so that everyone thinks that it's all powerful and we couldn't get along without it. That brings us back to the propaganda campaign that began with "Reconstruction" in 1865 in the Confederacy. Here's another point... Jeff Davis NEVER surrendered the CSA. Even in prison he refused to surrender. So that means the CSA is still a country, only laying in a dormant state. What's better, is that the Confederate Constitution is more in line with what the founding fathers of this country had in mind. Something to think about.
