I have a 01 with power by poole twins, R. A. S. P. and all the goodies with Mach 5'S. Here my questions to all, My vp44 is still the original one from day one. 125K. . Everything works great. Do you think I should get a back up, or get a back up and put it on and not wait for the problem to happen. I am thinking I am running out of time? Please advise all.

mine went on this truck and 132K, i did just backwards of you. i got all the ancilary hardware first (new vp, bigger fuel lines, Mallory, etc) and then did the twins, head work and clutch.

I would say it depends on if the VP-44 was stressed (i. e. starved for fuel) before you upgraded to the RASP. With the RASP, you shouldn't ever have a fuel pressure problem, which is the source of many VP failures. As far as getting a backup, a backup VP I suppose is never a bad idea if you have the money. However, if it were me, I would wait until the on I have died.

Im with Diesel Ram on this one. Im not 100% but I think they run about 1500 to 2000 dollars. I have 117K on mine and when it goes then I will put a new one on. Unitll then,Christmas is comming up and that $$$$ can go else where :-laf
