Just looked at an '02 CTD 6 speed slt LOADED all options but leather. club cab long bed... 5002 miles. The truck has been garaged in the winters. absolutely show room condition. Guy wants over 5 K OVER blue book for this truck... putting it in the range of a new one. Thoughts? No doubt its a beauty but is this price justified?

Just a thought, even if its 'worth' 5 k over book to you, the seller will probably have trouble selling it. Banks won't finance that much, which eliminates a lot of potential buyers right there. If you like it, make an offer. You can always go up.

KBB retail is $30,980. Private party is $28,375. Its a small private dealers personal truck so whether this is retail or private is questionable. He is asking $33,500 FIRM. ?

Well for retail that price is right in line.

For axample, this truck we currently have on our lot has alot more miles, and it's going for $32K.

I think it's all dependent upon the region, and what the market will bear.

Offer him what you are willing to pay, if he ays no then maybe that truck isn't for you.

$40,000 sounds fair:D sorry, just trying to up the value of my truck:p

I would say offer him what you think is reasonable and then walk away. If he doesn't stop you, then go find another one.

$33,500 FIRM? Sounds about right on to me. Since you posted this in different area's here is my response from the other... .

The thing is value received for your money. This seems like a lot to pay for an "Older" truck, but, 01/02 HO's are and will more so be looked at as the work horse of the "Electronic" motors that still had some element of simplicity.

Well it's not my site personally. We have a new young girl doing our internet stuff, and I'll straighten her out tomorrow.

Dont do it, you can get a brand new one for about the same price with no miles and better financing!

You'll have to show me a receipt for a loaded 04 HO 3500 dually with an OTD price of 31K-ish in Washington state..... They do once in a while advertise one plain janer for 30K-ish, "One Only" to get you to the lot. Then, BAM 38-40K+... .

Man, maybe I should up the price of my truck from $26,500 to $31,000. Yeah right. With only 5,000 miles, that truck IS practically new but not really. $33,500 is what I paid for my '04. 5 QC SB 3500 SLT. He's crazy IMO.

A red 02 2500 HO with 5000k on the clock went for 27500 about 3 months ago on ebay...

If you are going to finance the truck, make sure that you will not suffer a higher interest rate for owning an ''older truck'' A higher rate could actually cost you more than a higher price. .

As for the engine, I love my last of the rattlin' 02, but after taking a CMEP plant tour in Columbus and seeing all the fail safe tests that they have on these motors, i would not be concerned about owning an '04.

Some of you guys may not like this place but I would recomend calling Dave Smiths in Kellog Idaho and see what their price is for the truck you want. jarsong, I dont know about the dually prices but I do know that you can get a new SRW SLT 3500 for well under 35K there. Myself and a guy I work with have done it.
