Some of you guys may not like this place but I would recomend calling Dave Smiths in Kellog Idaho and see what their price is for the truck you want. jarsong, I dont know about the dually prices but I do know that you can get a new SRW SLT 3500 for well under 35K there. Myself and a guy I work with have done it.

That is where I factory ordered my truck. So what your saying is they are selling loaded 04 3500's for the same or less than in 2000/2001. Seems odd? My truck was 33. 5k + taxes and all the extra stuff like spray in liner, running boards... Something like 36+ when all is said and done... CASH. When the 03's came out I shopped around again thinking the two extra door would be worth it. For some silly reason my truck felt better and I decided not to get one. But the prices everywhere, even at Dave Smith were way higher then when I bought mine. In 2000, At that time, the dealers here in the NW were NOT dealing on 3500 HO's and said they could sell every one they got is for MSRP. The economy was still rocking in our area. MSRP on my truck is around 40k but I can't find my invoice because I did such a nice job keeping it in a safe place. :)

Well, Im just stating what I know. I have no reason to lie about stuff like this. So anyway back to the point about buying a used truck that is overpriced with higher financing, it just doesnt make as much sense to me.

I have to put my 2 cents in on this... I have a quote on my desk for a NEW 04. 5 3500 dually with a 6 speed... . 4x4 quad cab SLT with some add's for $ 33,500..... The quote is good through the 15th of May and would be ordered... ... not from dealer stock...

My credit union will do the deal with nothing down... at 3. 99%

That's exactly what I'm saying. You can get new ones (600s) for what this guy want s for his '02. Granted, it sounds like it's in brand new condition, and a lot of people prefer the 2nd gens, maybe that's what he's banking on. For the record, mine's a '04. 5 White 3500 QC SB SLT 6spd/4. 10 with adjustable pedals, Off Road group, premium cloth, tow pack, tow mirrors, sliding rear window, fold flat floor, so it's not stripped. $35,046. 45 out the door.

So it sounds like they are about the same price. When I test drove the 03 I wasn't overly impressed. I'll still take my 01 HO. I do like the looks of the new trucks just not the engine. WAAAAYYY to complicated, if fact I would argue even mine is on the line with all the electronic crap on it. 03 on up are just a little worse. I think that's what this thread might be leaning to. People prefer the 01-02's and that's why the value is holding on them. Kind of like the 1998 12V, 5 speeds. Rare you find one in tip top shap and when you do you'll pay for it.

NO......

That is what I paid for my loaded '01 ETH/DEE (except leather). If you live in western Wa. send me an e-mail and we will get you a new truck. Sam

I'm sure you can find a better deal. I just saw an 02 for sale the other day-- White SLT QC 4x4 needs paint work, grill, and tires == $22,ooo

I don't think your guy wants to sell unless somebody is buying him a new one.
