What year did DPF's start

Ok smart guys when did they start installing DPF's in the Dodges ?? Friend is looking for one and I recommended not buying one with the DPF.

Any '07 or '07. 5 if you want to say that was built January 1, 2007 and later had to have the DPF and came with the 6. 7 ltr. engine.
My '07 was built on Dec 20, 2006 and still is a 5. 9 with no DPF. I had to point out this fact to the smog tech last year when he told me my DPF was missing.

Simplest explanation... . If it is a 5. 9 then there will not be a DPF

Funny I have an 04. 5 and the smog tech told me he says it a 04 per the "book" so it say no cat . Guess I could delete mine. Guess they all smoke crack:-laf

My friend reinstalled his cat on his '05. When he went in the smog tech(very experienced actually) plugged it in and the computer said "no cat" necessary! He had restored the truck to stock on his Smarty,so it passed with flying colors.
