Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) What year NV4500????

I think I found a NV4500 to use in my 5sp swap, but how do I know what year it is. The guy bought it from a cummins, but can't remember what year it was. I want the 98 and up transmission to have the shorter shifts. I know I can change out top covers, but I rather just buy a transmission thats ready to go.

Come on guys. I know many of you are very famaliar with the 4500. I found a pretty good deal on a transmission and need to know soon.

I am pretty sure the bolt on shifter housing came out in '98. My truck is a '97 and it doesn't have the bolt on housing( :{ ). Other than that I don't of any other differences unless they are inside the box... . Good luck, Marc
