What year was the switch from rear leafs to coil springs?

Coils are only on the 2500 (not ever offered on the 3500??). I think it was 2014 when they switched to the stronger frame?

No........the 2013 RAM 2500s still had leaf springs. 2014 was the debut of coil springs on the 2500s.

I have to agree. The 2014 had/has the redesigned frame that accommodates the rear coils. The 2013 is the old frame that has no place to attach the coils.

It's the same year (2014) they added the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep to the new stronger redesigned frame.
