USAF as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist... ..... AKA a load toad or in plain talk a bomb loader. I've work everything from the F-4 to the B-52, loads of fun (pun intended). In 30 days I hang up 20 years, 10 months and move on to computer tech and network monkey, I managed to get a CCNA in spite of 911 and Al-Quida. I just hope George W can hold off his little boys revenge long enough so I don't get caught in a Stop-Loss.

Shovelhead,

You're right on the money..... I compete in 1000+ yard shooting. Just like one of my t-shirts says, "If you run, you will just die tired"

Graduated from Marine Sniper School, and was on a Swat team in my younger years... ... I let the young bucks do that stuff now.

Most people don't know what a ghillie suit is, you must be a shooting enthusiast?

Cheers

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and currently work as a Civil Engineer for a medium sized Construction Company 8 hours a day M-F. Our company has quite a few dozers, hoes, cranes and semi's. Thats about the only fun thing about it. On job sites, I often am paying attention to how the engines sound as opposed to how much dirt is getting moved.

But I consider those hours my spare time.

The other hours of the day I spend as a Volunteer Fire Department - Rescue Squad Captain. Sometimes I leave work if its a big fire or car wreck. The station is about 1 mile from my work. If done properly, that will consume the other 16 hours.

I've always been a "part-time mechanic" and do all the maintanence for 3 diesel rigs at the FD. I've always had my hands on some kind of engine or vehicle.

I'm also a International Harvester Cub Cadet collector. I love those little tractors and love working on them. If I'm not working on a Cummins, I'm working on a Kohler.

Aircraft

What a diverse group,

Work for Boeing in Wichita 18 yrs. ,shop supervisor over 777 Thrust Reversers. Operate excavating business on the side, have 90 freightliner dump truck with 350 cummins, 490E Deere Excavator, D-5 dozer, 2070 Mustang skid steer. Also play with a few head of cattle.

Wow, what a diverse group...

Long ago was a licensed A&P mech, working on private aircraft and helos. Joined the cops in the 70's and retired as a Homicide detective in '95. Recently left the local sheriff's Office as a background investigator for new hires. (I couldn't believe how many "rocks" out there want to be the cops! It's really scary!!). Now just hanging out doing "honey-do's".

I work as a Molecular Biologist at a laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. I do various procedures involving DNA manipulation and testing, creating new genes and investigating brain functions.

Young punk speaking...

Currently trying to finish up school here at Purdue University and get my Building Construction Management degree. Concrete is really my thing, and how I first met the Cummins. See a bunch of 'em in ready-mix trucks, as well as the trucks we used for the company I have worked for since I was 16. No other truck from the factory would do what they do! We overload them with form trailers, equipment, and general stuff that we need for each job, and really need bigger trucks. But who wants to drive a 'medium duty' truck all day? These things doubled as our offices!

Two summers ago I worked in Denver for Baker Concrete, the largest concrete contractor in the US. I worked on the Bronco's stadium and then on to a 13 story concrete frame apartment building. LOVE Colorado, and am seriously thinking of going back to work full-time. Like ToddT, I'll probably end up a project manager somewhere...

Hobbies... beer, my truck, and just being outside. Oh, and letting my old man live vicariously through my truck! He went to Denver Diesel and Automotive, but never really had a job wrenching. Mostly he drove truck, then sold 'em, now he sells aerial lift trucks to power companies. He comes in pretty handy on the weekends when I have questions about 'how this works' or the best way to go about doing something with the Cummins. Fun stuff.

Just turned 22 in Oct.

I don't think brain surgery is my thing... I'll stick to the trucks :D Anyway, I'm looking at going to college for Ag. Systems Management and/or Ag. Economics, and/or Ag. Business. It's a lot, but Iowa State says it can be done in 4 years! Oo.

Until this past June I was the sales manager for Western Star of Longview, TX. I am now the Truck Engine Account Manager for Holt Caterpillar(largest Cat dealer in the US). I cover 25 counties in East Texas. I "influence" truck dealers to order Cat powered trucks for stock or for their customers. I also call on the user and "influence" them to purchase their trucks with Cat power. I do alot of training which I enjoy. The Lord has blessed me to be able to do not just what I want to do but what I love to do!

Farmer,Currently going to school in Ag-Business to do anything that has to do with farming(hog management) I absolutely love it and I have about 2. 5 yrs. left.

Own a snow removal company for the winter months(good money) Saving up money for a grain/livestock hauling co(grandpa won't pass on) and a landscape/construction company. In my free time I like to build custom farm toys, semis and little Rams.

Follow your dreams no matter WHAT gets in your way. ;)

Medical Imaging

I get paid to try to keep several MRI's and Cat Scanners up and runnin'. I also get the pleasure of installing them from time to time.

Anything to pay for my toys I guess. :)

Am a Police Sergeant with an agency in Southern California. Have been doing it for 29 years, and still look forward to every duty shift. Am blessed with a great bunch of people to work with.

In my free time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping and any chance to get the hell out of Southern California on a Cummins roadtrip with the wife!

I have been in the Air force for 8 years now. I enlisted in 1994, got into the AF academy in 1996, got commissioned in 2000. I am a transportation officer by trade-- I make sure all the vehicles in the base fleet our taken care of and used properly. I am also responsible for all the cargo and passengers leaving or coming to the base on the heavies. AF is good, but I think I will probably get out when we have kids. Can't get back all the missed Christmases and birthdays, among other things.

If I had my dream job, I would be the lead guitarist in a traveling worship band that led arena-sized church services big enough to make the Rolling Stones look like a garage band. I am a guitar addict, and now own only four of them after recently selling one.

Another dream job would be designing internal combustion engines for a major automaker. I love engines! I also LOVE the challenge of finding a better way to do things, or building a better mousetrap.

Time to start on those Masters Degrees.....

HOHN, age 28

Edit-- i forgot to mention that I am a maintainer-- I keep my vehicles happy, my wife happy, and all without losing my sanity-- yet
