Whats a good fuel additive? there are so many

i am tired of all the fuel additive guys
bad mouthing the other guys product.

what do i look for? or are they all about

the same. i cant believe one can be so much
better then the others.

Hi drivers mopar,

I was using Howes for a while and found that with my fuel settings I had a fair bit of smoke on start-up, even when I had the truck plugged in overnight. A fairly dark haze was also there with hard throttle from low speeds.
I've gone back to Stanydine PF and the start-up smoke has all but gone, even without plug in, and the full throttle jumps from traffic speed is much cleaner. Idle speed is improved about 25-30 rpm as far as I can tell, and a bit smoother.
I will continue to use it.
FWIW some guys here swear by LE (Lubrication Engineers) additive. I'd like to try it but don't know were to get it here in BC Canada.

I agree with Bushwakr. I have driven over one Million miles [documented] in the big rigs and I have 183,000 miles on my 91 Cummins with no problems in the fuel system summer or winter. NO build up of soot in the exaust system either. there is one product that is VERY hard to find that will treat the metal parts in your pump and injectors permanently. It's called UNIGLID. this stuff is almost impossible to get as it is a secret additive used in formula 1 cars. I build racing engines and I have a line on it, but, like I said , it's hard to get. so try stanadyne and you will feel an improvement after a few miles. hope this helps.

Call Roy at Mag-Hytec (818-786-8325) He sells the LE fuel additive. He will sell you a small quanity or by the case and ship it to you. I just recieved my first few bottles to try it out. I just filled up yesterday and put some in so I can't say anything about it yet.

A fuel injection guy told be that using Stanadyne would help lube the injector pump and extend its life. He said that whatever you do avoid STP products for your diesel injection systems. Don't know if he was giving me a line or not, but many recommend the Stanadyne so...

try calling some truck shops or injection repair shops. I buy it from Northland injector service in Marysville wash. for $4. 50 for 16oz. or you can get it in gallons. 16oz. treats 60 gallons of fuel. it really is good stuff.
