I have had my Rhino Linings in for 4 years now and the bed has not been treated kindly, but no chips or flaws have happened. Very happy with the liner.

Bill, I have had my truck Rhino lined for several years and know several people that have also had their trucks done. As far as color it dependes what color you are looking for. The white turns kinda yellow after a while. I had red put in mine and it also got darker after a while. I don't think they can match your color, but as for the durability it is "great". It is also guarnteed for life. If you can manage to damage it somehow they will fix it free.

You have to decide on what your purposes are going to be. Do you want slick or non-slick finish? I think that the Linex (slick) and Rhino (non-slick) are the best known brands, but there are other brands as well. I carry a big slide-in camper, so I went with the Rhino Liner and couldn't be happier (San Jose Rhino Linings). If you want the Rhino, contact the factory and they will send you a sample and a $25 discount for the place in Sac. I would also check out some of their work before committing as the application is the most important aspect of the fishished product.

The Rhino color can be matched to your truck but it is often recommended to use the black as it is least prone to fading.

Had a rhino done at day one on the new rig (4 hours later)Love it to death! My last rhino had everything from chlorine spills to fuel spills at the track and none of the above affected it one single bit cinder block to gravel didn't wear. Both were color matched in some form or a nother I think the site changed but do a search on "rhino linings" -Nuff said

Bill,

I've got the Rhino and my dad's got Linex. Both have lifetime warranties and repair. I think the Linex looks better because it has a smaller texture than Rhino. Both were the same price here, so I went Rhino. My lining is thicker than his by as much as an 1/8 inch. Rhino has been around longer and but I've never seen a bad remark about either of them.

Bill-
A buddy and I took our trucks to Rhino at the same time and got a 10% discount. If you have a friend that also wants a liner you might try that. I would recommend going to the dealer and looking at some trucks he has coated. The Rhino dealer in Tulsa coats the bottom of the bed to about 5/16" and the sides and top to about 3/16 - 1/4". My buddy's truck is a '99 and had a few small bed dents. The Rhino man sprayed these dents full of liner material and his bed looks brand new!! Ask the dealer if he will do this for you. He may not want to spray over bondo? They will put any color in it you want, but recommended black to us because it will resist fading longer. Hope this helps.

I had the Line-X sprayed in my bed a few days after I got my truck. The only complaint I have about it is that is is slick and stuff slides around in the bed of my truck. I chose Line-X over Rhino because in Alaska Rhino wanted more than double the price of the Line-X. The Line-X guy said he could match the color of my truck, but reccomended the black for its resistence to color fade.

I have the Rhino Liner and love it. I do not think I would put bondo on the bed and then have the liner sprayed over it. The bondo might break apart and then you would have a soft spot in your liner and a nice place for some water to hide. Just pound out the dents from the bottom as best you can and let them level it out with the liner. My two cents!!!

When getting a liner sprayed in, get it done at a place that does good work. I have a Rhino Liner installed at Rhino Linings of Lafayette, and it sucks. It is starting to peel at the front corner of the bed rail, and this is due to them not sanding the paint all the way to the edge of the liner, and it not sticking. I have been told by several people that my liner doesnt look right, and its thin on the sides. The top of the bed on the inside, its paper thin. They also managed to not have the color mixed in completly, so there are some darker dots on it. And they maaged to get very small air bubbles in it. The mix was off enough that it will gouge, a dog house in the back tore 4 holes all the way through it. All of these problems are only due to the installer. They did a pi$$ poor job. I will get it fixed in the summer (but not at Lafayette). I have been waiting for it to start peeling, so they have to completly remove the old liner and start fresh. I am happy with the product, I have had sections of dozer track in the back for the winter to be able to drive in 2x4, and it didnt show any wear. Now that I know of Line-X, I would get it done, but I will stick to Rhino due to getting it fixed under warentee.

Sorry for the long rant, but make sure that you get a good place to installl it. (I think this place employed part time 5* employees LOL)

Just had my bed done using linex. Had Rhino before. Both are excellent. Lines is not as good at holding things from sliding as Rhino. I went to Linex as I liked the looks of the finish better. Prep. is the key.....

I had the linex done on my week old truck ,the guys did an excellent job & would reccomend them wholeheartedly. Iwent with the line-x as i preferred the finish & also had my tool box done to match. Ialso installed a quality rubberized floor mat which really eliminates any slippingso the only parts of the bed exposed are the sides & tailgate. Ihave however chipped the tailgate which i think would have happened with either one cosidering the object that did it. They took care of that ,no problem. Talk to Jesse at Truck Works on Auburn Blvd,a great guy who will work with you on your truck needs & back it up with good service. All my extra,s were bought from him . Ian

I have a speed liner and love it. I would stay away from tuff liner. I actually wore a hole in the bedliner of my other truck with the tuff. It was under a year old.

Folks:
I went with the Rhino liner 2 years ago and have been not to impressed. One thing the color(black) fades badly. I have had corners chip off, it seems the older the material gets the more susceptible to stain it becomes, a few other things I don't care for but it still is better than the plastic, slid-in type. Before I did that again I would leave the bed bare. .
My thoughts:

I have had both the Rhino Liner (custom colored charcoal in my last 4x4) and Line-X in my Ram (it was also "custom" colored to match my black Sport #ad
#ad
) Irrespective of whether you purchased Rhino or Line-X IT WILL "chalk out" over time. BTW, my charcoal Rhino Liner did not fade. With Rhino, only the black has the UV protectant blended into the material, ALL other colors have to be top coated with a clear urethane.

QUESTION: Has anyone used the Line-X BRIGHT yellow liner color? I'm considering this for a project I'm working on. Also, I don't think fade would be an issue as the components will not see any appreciable sunlight.

I have had The Rhyno for 21/2 years. Back then they did not add the uv protectant. Now they do. I am fighting with Rhyno now, it looks like **** , faded and flat looking. When I bought it they said it wouldn't fade, but it did. I also don't like the bumpy uneves surface. You can't keep it clean. Sand will collect in the grouves/low spots. They can provide a smoother application.

Hill, I had the Rhino Liner sprayed on my '92 4x4 in late August/early September '92 and they had the UV protectant in their black liner material then.

I've had the Rhino liner in my '97 2500 4x4 for about three years and and completely satisfied with it. I just had Line-X do my friend's new 01 2500 4x4 and it looks to be about the same thickness and toughness. The Line-X cost my buddy $375 which was a promotional price through the Dodge dealership.

Regardless, either beats the devil out of the plastic drop-in liners I've had in the past.
