I have a Tractor Supply Company (made by Delta). I have over 300 pounds in it between fuel (22 gallons of diesel) and tools without one problem to date... whoever said they fold in half might have gotten a bad one.

pro-tec all the way. I made a mistake buying a cheap toolbox the first time and it only took 6 months before my chains and binders broke the bottom out. The pro-tec is way thicker and is welded allthe way across instead of tack welded every so often.

i've had two United Welding Service Boxes and love'd the,,, Still have on on my 95 1/2 ton and ordered on for the new 07,,, the on in the 95 has taken several direct blows from a back hoe bucket and show only little wear,, I had a black one on my 06 1/2 ton and the color seemed to hold up very well,,, to my buying anything other than a UWS Toolbox would be like buying anything than a dodge,,, just wouldnt happen

Rawson-Koenig

I went with Rawson Koenig crossbed, chest type box, black in color. check readers rigs for photo. it was about $350. I am no light wieght and stand on it to clean the truck. mounted a light in it for use at night because the cargo light wont illuminate inside it. double key lock, you can open from either side of the truck and holds a bunch of stuff/junk i need. do a google search to see more.

hope this helps.

I have a weather gaurd one, its starting to corriod i am wondering i sand the thing down and then have it painted the dodge sliver, anyone know if the paint would stick to it? sand it down and spray it with some good primer then paint then clear coat? also wondering how it would look on a Pat. blue truck

Hey guys, I don't want to burst anyones bubble but the best toolboxes made are McWelco, I have one on my truck, it is completely waterproof with no rubber gaskets, it has a triple rolled inner lip, also nearly impossible to break into unless your crook has a plasma cutter or decides to cut a huge hole in it with a sawzall but I think that is a little too much noise for a dirtbag tool thief. www.mcwelco.com is the website, I have the above rail box, but they have many different designs, they also make the highest quality lumber racks, this type of quailty comes at a price however, my box was almost $900 after taxes, but you get what you pay for right. All the aluminium diamond plate boxes that I have seen are junk you could bust them open with a small crowbar and will bend if you stand on them, I used to have a weatherguard steel box that was pretty nice, but humidity would get in even though it had a rubber gasket design, the McWelco is in its own league, built like a safe, I would never sell mine.

Hey guys, this is only my 2nd post. I just bought my first Cummins last week and I love it!! So far I have purchased a few goodies for it but am looking for a toolbox. I saw a member with a 3rd gen that had a low profile black toolbox that caught my eye, but can't seem to find any info on his truck again. Do you know something like this that will work on a 2nd gen? It looked as though it set ontop of the bed rails and was make of black plastic, but only sticked up a few inches. Thanks for any help or info.

I am also looking for info as to what types of headlight bulbs these trucks have for the low beam specifically. Thanks.

Truck Trunk. I have a low profile diamond plate, but they make them in black, too. Very heavy duty and they have a full width locking mechanism.
