"Hotshot", as pertaining to Trucks with Cummins engines would be someone or a company who specializes in fast, all hours of the day or night pick up and delivery of equipment/material etc. for a fee. bg

Many medium duty trucks are used for hot shots also... ...
They're basically smaller version tractor-trailers. Like the duallys with the big flat bed gooseneck trailers that are being used commercially... .....

Ditto on the above. Read my sig and go to the homepage. I run 3,200-3,800 miles a week on the 92 alone. We are regulated just like a semi. Class "A" cdl, log books, the whole garbeled mess. Yes theres $$$$$ in it but only running long hrs and bustin our butts. But still better than 50K per yr job. Mike

VERY interesting. Since my stroke, I can't work around large groups of people (I taught!), but I do quite well all by myself!
