The guy had everything. Valve, switch, wiring, hoses (though they would need replacing) a sender, etc. Am I forgetting anything?

It was close to the ocean, so the aluminum was a bit oxydized, but it didnt seem badly pitted.

What's this worth?

He wants $295. 00 and didnt seem too negotiable.

Eric

PS The sideplate said it's for a Dodge, and he told me he had it in a 1995, so there shouldnt be any problems there.

It would be going in the 98.

thats a good buy with everything... . Retail is like 900 to 1100 or so.

I am getting a plastic fuel tank from a marine warehouse. www.westmarine.com. 18 gal tank that can go where the spare is for $139. #381939 Had to get a few things like guage, #105140, hoses, stuff like that, comes with a sending unit. Bought a fill plate for the decks of boats, gonna put it behind the Lic plate on a swing plate.....

Hummm that's a good idea. Will you be taking pics, and making a parts list? :D

I measured the area in the front of my bed. Not enough room due to the toolbox in there.

I'll have to mount it in the back of the bed. It's not a real big deal, I really dont put anything in there anyway, and it's not very high, so when I take the mutt to the beach, she can just hop over it.

My wife said she wouldnt like the way it would look there, but it's so low that you probably wouldnt know it was even there unless you were looking for it.

I'd like the fact that this way it would take some weight off of the front axle.

I believe this is the older model, so it dont have the "tracks EFS" system. No big deal, I'm sure I could upgrade if I felt I really needed it.

C'mon now. Almost 120 people viewed this. Other than Eric, no comments.

If someone dont talk me out of this, I'll be forced to go buy it tomorrow. :-laf

EricOo.

This is all I bought for the tank stuff

381939 plastic 18 gal. tank

105140 Elec gauge.

246704 Fill tube for mounting

372110 hose barb for the tank

228510 2 clamps

206169 2 clamps

I am going to use the stock FP I took out from the stock location to transfer the fuel to the main tank. Just wire up a switch to the dash and the gauge as well. Then all I would have to do is wait for the fuel in the main tank to go down a bit then flip a switch to transfer the fuel to the main tank... . get 52 gal. total then.....

I bet I will get it like late next week and I will try to take pics of it as I do it. I already have the spare out and the winch out. I just have to tidy up some wires and stuff an

I got it. $265. 00.

I'll be busy tomorrow with the never-dull. :D

It's not pitted like I thought it might be, just not shiny.

Thanks Eric, and Willyslover for your input.

Eric, I would be very interested in what youre doing with the spare tire tank. I think I have an obsession with added fuel capacity. :-laf

Eric,

Then I will post pics and stuff for you. one thing I think I will need is 2 straps and rubber strips for the tank mount. then drill and tap the steel crossmember to bolt up the straps. I have a tap and Die set..... I might be able to get both items at home depot or some other store... .

I still am wondering where to put the fuel fill, I have to find a Lic. plate holder like the old caddies had for fuel fill... . and use that or something like it..... Might have to space the tank down a bit to fit the fuel fill hose on a downward angle from the fill opening... ...

Should get the tank and stuff this week sometime.....
