Check for disconnected vacuum lines under the hood where they come out of the manifold and follow them looking for broken sections along the way especially the one that passes over the engine to where it goes into the fire wall on the passenger side.

If the blower motor only works on high speed then your resistor is shot. Very common problem with all vehicles, especially the new Chevy pickups.

As mentioned if the blower only spins on high your tap resistor is not connected/broken. If the blower is ok but air direction is defrost only - that is the default as mentioned when there is no vacuum to draw the routing dampers closed. Check your vacuum lines and also pull the hose connection on top of the vacuum pump and check by hand. If no vacuum - try 1 shot of WD-40 (IMHO) I've had my pump stick and that solved it.

Let me know if your resistor is out,I have a spare here I can send out. It seems that when I bought the first one I misplaced it in the shop and had to buy a second one a week later, doooohhh. Then this weekend while putting things where they belonged I found the other one. It was one of those "I'll put it where I know I can find it" deals..... Andy
