Whats in the box??

I've found no matter how many tools you carry,there's times when you don't have what you need. I carry a 8"x8"x 20"tool box that has so many tools in it that you can hardly lift it. Along with baling wire,duct tape and electrical connectors I'm set. Only thing is I hardly ever have to work on my truck with them,it's always someone else's rig.

Bill, My first forman, Clyde Dixon, came from Michigan in a Model T and he said "all you needed was bailing wire and a pair of pliers". I learned more from that old guy than anybody! Miss him.

Nothing,wouldn't know how to use them if I did have some. I ain't much of a mechanic. I do have a lug wrench.

Word of warning. You should try out your jack before you really need it. Heard tales of many of the stock jacks that won't lift our trucks at all let alone high enough,but that's what cell phones are for. Cell phone might be the most important tool to carry.

Has any one broken an intercooler hose clamp I ask because it just happend to me!! I went to the NAPA parts house and purchased two of them, gotta have a spare, and for 2. 50 each I recommend that you all get one as well. .

ditto jf24grdn, with add'n of bungee cords fishing rods, an icechest, a couple of buckets, (they contain stuff) TP, big piece of wire-rope,looped at both ends, extra 5/8" hitchpins, small folding shovel, lots of pencils (left in there by my kids) small aircompressor, propane torch, propane coleman grill (might have a soup emergency!)
DUCK tape (never know when a duck might need taping) extra fuel filter, extra oil and transmission fluid.

Toolboxes carry tools for B. O. M. B. ing CTD's, or making money to B. O. M. B. your own CTD. Simple. Repair? Is that like, what ya gotta do, when ya own a Ford or Chebby ?

I got enough high buck tools in my box to make a thief very,very happy in the the 2 minute time span until I shoot him dead. Anybody got a poor abused, psychopathic, underfed Doberman they can sell me, so I'll have burglar protection?

Thought it would be interesting to post what tools you carry in your truck at all times. Being many members hit the road and often head to no mans land I would think they may have certain basic tools they find to be most important.

No Tools just a tow strap to pull them phords and chevs out of the way.

In addition to the usual assortment of sockets, wrenches, & pliers, I also carry bolt cutters, hacksaw, a cordless drill with extra battery, set of EZ outs and a set of cobalt drill bits. Also the usual assortment of sprinkler repair tools. Most of this stuff is to work on my equipment or in case we break a sprinkler line grinding out stumps. Never needed to work on my truck out on the road yet. I also carry a tube of this powdered radiator stop leak from NAPA. Used it on my brush chipper and it stopped a pin hole leak in seconds.
