The Viper isn't that much faster than the cheaper Z06 Vette when traction is closer to equal. I have watched stock Z06 Vettes on drag radials run 11. 70s all day. For the difference in price give me a Z06 with a 150hp shot of juice. I could run 10s in the 1/4 and still knock down decent fuel mileage. Of course it's much more fun blowing Vipers away with my Dad's little V6 Buick T-Type which also runs deep in the 11s. I'm much more impressed with his T-Type than my high 10 low 11 second big block Buick Skylark.

I just wanna beat a stang or two.

Talked to a Mustang guy about the car he was driving Tuesday(his). Seems that the windows suck in at 170, on the way to 185:eek:. He and a 1000cc motorcycle ran up to that speed and he was AHEAD of the bike. (I forget what pile of letters goes with it. )

Can you say "knife at a gunfight"? CTD vs. That?

But then he is a tech at the tuning shop where we do dyno runs.

I have two Corvettes the 99 was stock 100% and ran 13. 01 @108. I road race it now and it would do probably 11. 3's it has 455 RWHP & 403 FT with heads and cam & stock 346 displacement. New ZO6 is Mid 12's even low low 12's. I don't know what the truck would need to beat one but considering the Vette is 31?? lb. 600 HP is not over estimating it I beleive. Good Luck. Challenge him to a tug of war :D keep us posted.

2002 Corvette conv. auto trans. He was a good friend of mine, we raced kickdown, 60 to 120mph on the highway. He said you nail it then I'll just walk past you. so we were side by side @ 60mph I get on it his front bumper is even with my mirror and that is were it stayed until 120mph. we did it 3 more times with the same result.

Like I said, he WAS a good friend of mine. Like Snowman said It takes alot of money to beat a stock vette, even more to play with a Z06.
