been looking for a 4x4 1st gen beater and stumbled onto a pretty nice truck... not really what I was looking for, but it's tempting me...

92 W350 5sp 4x4 club cab dualy, red w/ gray interior, 227k miles. very nice and clean inside/out. overhauled pump, gauges, "high performance injectors" (I'm guessing POD's?) overhauled transmission, new clutch. guy said he swapped a D70 out of a Ford into it  3. 54 gears front/rear. new front hubs and brakes, ice cold AC, no rust (TX truck) nice flatbed w/ headache rack, two toolboxes, 30gal aux tank, 5th wheel, gooseneck, and bumper hitches, good rubber all around.

he's the 2nd owner and has known the truck since it was bought new.

he has a log book with all maint records (he's a retired airplane mechanic)

like I said, not really what I was looking for, but it's in such nice shape, and I think I can pick it up for a pretty good price. curious to see what you guys thought it might fetch on ebay. I would probably end up keeping it, but if I tell my financial advisor (wife) that I can make some money on it (and mean it) I'll have a better chance of convincing her to let me park the thing in our already crowded driveway :)

thanks in advance,

Forrest

It ain't worth a plug nickel, there Forrest. If I were you, I would forget about that truck and let it set... ... ...

One question... ... . the address and phone number of said truck is what?;)

I hate to say it, but it would probably get at least $10,000 on fleabay, probably more. I've seen some nicer first gens go for as much money as they cost new.

my only concern is the flatbed... I prefer a flatbed, but my feeling is it'll hurt resale on ebay.

let's just say I think I can get the thing for a little over half of what you quoted

Oh my, that's what everybody up here wants with rusty rocker panels, weak floor pans, and flaping box sides.

I guess I'm going to save my pennies and go to Texas and bring back some rust free iron.

Michael

If you live close to IN. I know of a former TDR member that wants a flat bed for his W350. He would trade you his dually bed.

I have a C&C flatbed I'll trade, if it is the dually bed I am thinking of. I'l even throw in my 2-5/16 G-N hitch.

Private party, with the miles listed, I'd say $8-9K.

I was going to say $8k to $10k last nite, but I didn't want to be the 1st to stick my neck -----------------------------out! :-laf
