Need some advice! I have the opportunity to purchase a '95 CTD 12v Engine, that is complete. Has everything, water pump, injection pump, turbo, vacuum pump/powersteering pump, intercooler and all the piping, radiator, and computer and wiring harness. It also come with a new clutch, NV4500 5spd transmission and 241DLD Transfercase out of a 97 Dodge Ram.

As far as the engine goes, it ran when pulled out, but #5 cylinder was full of antifreeze when he pulled the injector. Thinking its either a cracked head, or a blown head gasket. Anyway, I need to know what this would all be worth if I bought it. Might use it to build a project I am thinking about, and this would work out pretty damn sweet! I just need to know what to offer him, he said $1800 for all of it, but I dont want to pay to much, ya know?! :D

PS, does the flywheel, clutch and throw out bearing from a 97 CTD fit on a 2000 Dodge Ram with the CTD and NV4500? I need a clutch right now, so if I buy it, I can rob it of the clutch for now as well! :-D

Sounds like a decent deal.

The clutch should fit with out any modification.

I dont like the idea of putting a used clutch in a truck, but if you are that hard up for $$ take the cash you would pay for the motor and buy a clutch instead.

I dont like the idea either... but the clutch was less than a month old, then the truck got rolled over. still looks new according to my friend selling it. The other part of this deal is that he most likely would take payments... meaning I could pay him part of it, get the clutch then slowly pay him off for the rest, instead of all of it at one time... that is the only reason I am not buying what I want right now, as the $$$ is short and it JUST died today, cant hold under moderate throttle anymore :(

Where are you located Alpha? If you don't want it all I'd be interested.

I am in MN, i bought it tonight, pick it up on Tuesday. He even is going to help me out by building a engine stand to hold it up so I can tear it apart!

Alpha,

If you are interested in parting out the engine, let me know.

will do, as of right now, my plans are to rebuild it, but not sure what to put it in just yet. I wish I had the money to buy an old Power Wagon, like the real power wagons back from the 40's and 50's but I cant find one worth fixing for under 2-3k bucks :(
