Asking price should be ???????? Thanks for any input

Combination of market value and book. Market value is the primary. Look through your local newspapers (or closest major newspaper) to see what they are selling for. Check out a few dealers for the same truck as yours to see what they are asking, then whack off about $2500. This should give you a good idea where to base yours at.

Is this one of those rare 6 speed trucks with the SO engine?:confused:

OK . . . I will bite. What is a SO engine:confused: :confused: and what is special about this with the 6 speed:confused:

Thanks in advance:D

If my information is correct, Dodge introduced the 6 speed in late 2000 with the standard output engine. There were not very many of them made. In 2001 and after, the 6 speed is/was only available with the high output engine. The 2000 version of the 6 speed has a smaller input shaft to mate to the SO engine. I would think that this version of the transmission would be worth big bucks as salvage because it could be easily installed in trucks with the 5 speeds in them. (Not worth parting out the 2000 to do it though).

i have never really understood why people will pay so much more for a truck on a used car dealer lot then they will pay for from a regular everyday person trying to sell his truck... atleast he/she knows some history about it and is not trying to make a living off it!:mad:

people are pretty dumb sometimes... and why should there be 2 different book values??one from a dealer and one as a private party??how is that??!!!:-{}

Klenger is right except the 6 speeds came out in late 99. I have heard there were only 1500 or so 99's made with the 6 speed. And being as 2000 was a short production year, its probably safe to say there were only a few SO 6speeds.
