Howdy all,
Please fight the urge to say, "why are you doing that?" I've just suffered through 58 comments on a different thread with loads of people arguing amongst themselves on whether changing the cover is pointless, too costly, no benefit, a must change, etc... let's just leave it to "I want to and can."
I'm getting ready to change out my stock diff cover for an aFe Power cover. Two reasons, first at 37000, it's time to change the diff fluid and second, the new cover has a pre drilled and tapped spot for a temp sensor. At the end of May we're off on a 2 week vacation to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone towing a 12,000lb 5th wheel. So... off comes the stock cover, on goes a new cover and filled with AMSoil Severe Gear 75W-90. (we tow about 25% of the time)
2012 4x4 SRW Laramie Longhorn, 6.7 turbo diesel with a 3.73 diff.
---> What would be considered normal and hot for diff fluid?
(for those of you who want to talk about weights and such, my truck is a 2500 in name only. I've upgraded springs, tires and brakes, and added bags it to the point it's actually a 3500.)
Thanks in advance!
Joel
