I just got my combo boost/EGT gauge installed yesterday. I haven't driven it much yet just around the neighborhood, but with a bit of lugging up some hills I managed to get up around 850 degrees. I know lugging is bad for EGTs but I was just trying to learn it's characteristics. Boost while lugging it was under 8psi. It'll develop up to 20-21 pounds of boost before defueling. This is a totally stock 180hp motor. The turbo was changed but it's still a stocker. It may be off a 5sp truck which might explain why it develops more than the 18psi this CPL (2174?) is supposed to develop. Or maybe the wastegate isn't working. Anyhow, is 850 about right for a stocker with ambient air temps being around 50 degrees? Just wanting to make sure everything is pretty much normal before I start tinkering. It seems it won't take much to hit 1250. I've only got 400 degrees to play with.

Mine is also completely stock. CPL 2174. 180 hp pump. EGT's run anywhere from 400 to 900 degrees. On occassion I have seen as high as 1100 (running full out up a hill). Boost I have seen it up to 14psi. Normally no higher then 10psi.

Hope this helps.

I got mine installed this weekend also. If i hammer it hard I get 1100. Then I let off. I am also gettng 35 boost. what is the highest or safest? Thanks

Put mine in on a 2022 automatic this weekend. I think your boost is right for a 5 spd but i dunno. I can hit 1010 WOT in 3rd and 18 psi boost. 55-70mph it holds 5-6psi and the EGT varies between 400-800 degrees depending on the incline the truck is on.
