I installed gauges awhile back and now I have a question about what is normal. When I installed the EGT, I put the probe in the usual place, pre-turbo. The highest I've seen it read is about 725-750, even going up 5% grade in 5th WOT @2500 rpm. Twice now it has stuck while indicating 725-750. The first time i noticed ~725 I was stopped. The temp didn't come down. (Normally, idle reading is about 250. ) I goosed it a couple times, no change. Everything else either looked or sounded normal so I continued driving, after the second shift, it began to behave normally. Today while driving it stuck again, I shifted down to 5th and let off the throttle, ~750! Slowing more (for the curves) and down to 4th and everything is normal again. Has anybody seen anything like this? I suspect it is the gauge, any thoughts?
