Hey guys, I've got a question about the 3k governor spring kit.
Let's say that a person installed one in a '95 Ram w/ a 5 speed and after the install the truck didn't feel any different.
In neutral the truck won't rev past 3k, maybe 3050 but that's it.
In 5th gear the truck is all done at about 85-90 mph (around 2600 RPM).
For some reason I was expecting a good hard pull to right around 100mph (about 2900-3000 RPM), am I confused as to what the 3k GSK really does, or is there possibly something more serious wrong here?
BTW with the stock springs the truck ran EXACTLY the same. Same "High Idle" and same max MPH.
I talked to Piers about this earlier today and he said to tighten the retaining nuts one click each which I am going to do tonight.
Any other thoughts or suggestions would be very appreciated.
Mike
