Neighbor has a 07 5.9 stock 6 speed 3/4 ton and his clutch is going out. Should he stay with a stock clutch or go a little more heavy duty? He pulls a 11K 5ver. Read a few of the current post to get some idea of what might be added to be made right like the TO bearing, and the possible problems. What might be a recommendation?
Thanks to all.

I don't have a manual trans but I think pretty much everyone on this site is going to recommend a phone call to South Bend Clutch.

If he likes the smoothness of the Dual Mass Flywheel then stick with OEM. If he has added power or not, then SBC will recommend the correct clutch. Also change out the ATF in the trans to a better oil.*

Dont be tempted to over-clutch.
Worst thing I ever did to my truck and ended up throwing away an expensive clutch long before it was worn out.

I would go with a South Bend O-HD. It's the clutch in my dad's 06 and what I will replace my OFE with when the time comes.

Can you tell me what you didn't like, and why you chucked it? Seems to me a little more grab would work OK . I have Suggested South Bend and to call them for suggestions. So then he has a Duel Mass in there? Which is best Duel or Single?

A "little" more grab is fine, horrendous on-off like a light switch is lousy to deal with and hard on the equipment - especially when towing. The only thing that would alleviate it was to slip it real bad with your foot on the brake (as explained by SBC) and even then it would only act right for a short time.
If you go with a single, I recommend the SBC O-HD. Tons of holding power and Honda like feel. Cant speak to a double as I've not needed one.
