I have searched some forums trying to find out what a stock 98. 5-2002 ETH truck dynos at. I have seen anywhere from 160hp to 242hp. Is the gap really this big? I know there is alot of things like the type of dyno, air temp etc. that can cause different #'s. But on average, what is the RWHP rating on an ETH? Thanks.

Yes the gap is that big, probably bigger I think I dynoed 232 stock 2001 eth/dee. I noticed you gave the code for ETH for a range of vehicles but the eth ordering code wasnt avail till 2001

Jay> First off you had different versions of the ecm for 98. 5 to 2000 that was for the autos and the manuals. Then in 2001 there was a newly introduced ETH for the manuals that was called the high output. It was 245 HP and 500 something torque. In that year you had the ETC which had the HY35 turbo. The ETH had the HX35 turbo and had different injectors and pump and pistons I think. You had to get the NV5600 6 speed to get the ETH in 2001. I mean there are lots of things that changed in that period of time

"Thanks for such a detailed answer Gary"

UMMmmm - you asked for numbers - I gave you mine, specific info on my truck is listed in my sig, that is what I put it there for - how much more "detail" did you want or expect???????

We ain't no mindreaders here... ;)

NAH = I was a new member once myself - it takes a while to figure out who are the jokers, and who might be more devious in their responses - I've always considered myself more the joker than devious - but Jay probably didn't see the "smiley", or didn't accept it in the manner it was intended - as some point out, you can't call a guy a SOB, and then expect to get away clean because you attach a string of :) :) :) on the end - and that's a tactic I TRY to avoid...

Jay, welcome to the group, and don't get too excited over the varying responses you might get from time to time - give us the benefit of the doubt very few are really out to "get" you... ;)

Personally, I believe alot has to do with each idividual injection pump. Mine (a 4x4 daully) has always been about 25-40 HP less than other rigs same year, setup and mods. I haven't been told by anyone what exactly would cause this.

I have since had the ECM re-flashed by Cummins, no change.

This has been a sore spot on my @$$ for quit some time.

Just to give you numbers (you asked)

my truck 2001 4x4 3500 auto, BD3's, Peirs HX-40, Edge comp, AFE, 4" exhaust..... last dynoed 365rwhp (can't remember torque)

A friend of mine, same year, equivelant mods... ..... 412rwhp.

Imagine my surprise... ... ... ... my truck is 47rwhp less. I'm Like WHAT.

I've been looking all around for a year now, no answers yet.

HTH

George
