I agree. I wouldnt use a channel unless I listened on it for a few days. I know most people wouldnt do this, but this is just me.
Around here there is a lot of Coast Guard activity, and I've heard these guys on frequencies very close to the CB channels.
I also wouldnt reccoment anyone go past 27. 500 Mhz. Youre very close to 10 meters, and if youre running power, you'll splash them!!
I'd also stay away from 12 meters. I believe that's around 25. 000 Mhz.
I pride myself on operating professionally (even on 19), but I exercise extra caution near the ham frequencies. They've earned the privilage to work those freqs, and I havent.
Not only that, youre looking at a hefty fine if youre cought there!
