This comment was made regarding my 1943 Carryall/Cummins reconstruction.

"Paul kept all the bolts and nuts, and made just about everything else. the Carryall rear body is just about the most complex piece of tin on any of these Dodges. "

My god, WM  that is the most awesome bit of mechanical artistry I've ever seen. The slide show was incredible. After looking at that rust eaten pile of junk I sure didn't thing it was going to come together - Wow.

How does that little 4bt purr?

Trail Dog;

Thanks for the kind words on my Carryall. The Cummins 4BTA purr's nice, awesome power. Its coupled to a 1999 Dodge NV-4500 which is married to a NP-205 T Case.

The Diffeential ring and pinions are 4. 89's, the tires are SAT Super Lug 900x16... 36"

I run 60 mph at 1950 rpms. Dont ask fuel MPG, I dont know. Never figured it. The Carryall is 7300#. This past summer, I had it in Iowa at the National Power Wagon Rally, put a lot of miles on it, the fuel gauge just broke off the 1/2l when we loaded it on the trailer after 5 days.

I always have people say " nice balls".

I have a big set of truck nuts on the back and I always get looks. The best is that there flesh color. I love it woman ask if there true to size, and with a big smile I say " They sure are" :-laf

All my friends told me that it looks alot better than my ford, My friend steve has a 2000 24 v with propane injection the night I took him for a ride in he was all like damn this thing is nice told me he was jeouls and I could belive him cuz his is damn fast and looks damn good 6 in lift so I proud of it.

I guess it was a compliment when the guy at the tire store said "being that this thing is so heavy in the front I'da thought the front tires woulda worn out first  " I had to take him a ride so he could understand. :-laf

An extremely DIE-HARD Furd guy told my brother that he really liked the sound mine made when I took off one night. I had a 4" glasspack that sounded better than any other 3rd Gen. I've heard. I've since changed the exhaust, had a nasty drone with the trailer behind that I couldn't handle for 12 hrs a day, but it still sounds OK.

I get so many compliments... ;) , but the one from a Furd guy really stands out.

I've had compliments on the sound of my truck. Have you heard a piped Powerstroke or DMAX? Eeeewww!! Sounds like cow flatulence or something! There's really nothing like the sound of a good inline six (especially a diesel) or V-12. Although, have you ever heard a triple-rotor mazda rotary?----very nice indeed.

was watching the muncie pulling video last night with one of my buddies (very very ford kind of guy) and he informed me that a straight piped powerpuke was the best sound in the world.

One of my customers: "I thought my SUV was big until I parked next to your truck!" quickly followed by "Please take care not to back over my SUV when you leave"

And from one of my kids friends: "Cool, it shakes when you shut it off!"

this isn't really a compliment but pretty funny. a guy asked me," is that your truck with the stacks?" i said,"yeah" he says, "that trucks ugly, those stacks look like s--t!" i got a little irratated until i asked him what he was driving. his reply... " a Ford f150" so it really wasn't his fualt he doesn't know what a good truck is!!

My Dad drives a Ford f350 with an intake exhaust and a box, and can not be swayed. Anyhow i signed a power of attorney so he could go pick mine up. it was about 6 hours from home. I called him while he was driving. He told me he was going to go deaf riding in this thing.

Then after he got it home and thanks to the good ole pacnor west it rained most of the time, so coming off the river road onto the highway was a bit tricky. He calls me and asks me what are you going to do with this much truck I can barely keep it on the road. Stupid thing spins the tires in all the gears.

He did eventually get a few dry days and opened it up and he admitted that it pulled alot harder than his ferd.

wait till he feels all the extra fuel and the twins i am building before i get out and go home :-laf

While under my truck trying to explain how 4x4 works to my wife. I was pointing out the rear drive shaft when she says with a smile"It's_________big ". Shocked me, she normally does not have that kind of humor. :-laf :D :-laf :-laf

I was going home from work and passed a couple of semis. A second later I hear them talking on the CB about my truck saying how much it will smoke( fogs intersections :-laf ) and how quick it is!

Our close friends with a NEW F350 (year 2004), had their camper on, and use my 2001, 2500 CTD 4x4 and car trailer for run to pickup some Steel Benches for their shop.

Quote from the wife who did the driving, "it drives like a sports car" and mine is mild
