I have my truck with D25s and am looking at new control arms. I was in an accident on thursday that bent my driver's arms, and I am looking at aftermarket arms now since i have been having tire rub issues as it was. Now i am looking for the best control arms for the job.

Thanks

Kevin

DT pro fab makes some nice looking ones. I have there replacement trac bar and it's quality built. Mine are getting worn, I've been looking at their control arms as well.

hope you're ok Kevin ...

sorry to hear about the accident ...

I am thinking DT Profab arms, due to my rubbing issues i was having with the stock arms... . I will see what my body guy is gonna do for me.

Top Gun Customz will make any length control arms for you. I just ordered a set to replace my Superlift control arms due to tire rubbing. They cost me $276. 00 shipped for all four.

I have an '02 with the DT +1/2" arms and a DT track bar. I have Denman Coyote 305/85 tires on it with a 2" spacer and only a little rub on the control arms at full steering lock. No issues with the fender well even with mud flaps on. Oh, wheels are stock.

Dan

how wide are the 305 85's mine are 315 75's, i am trying to cure rub all the way. I am using factory aluminum rims. Will the Dt arms cure it up or will i need to do something else, I am lacking 1/4 - 1/2 inch now of clearing i believe

Kevin

By my calculations the 305/85's are roughly 10. 2 inches wide, and your 315/75's are 9. 3 inches wide. So his tires are wider by almost an inch.

Thanks, looks like this could very possibly solve my rubbing then, worse case is that it isn't improved, at least the arms should be stronger than stock

Kevin

The 305s are narrower than the 315s. When reading a tire (305/85r16) the first number "305" is the width in millimeters. The "85" is the percentage of the width, that is the profile (305x85% or . 85 which equals 259. 25mm = 25. 925cm=10. 2 inches) and the 16 is the wheel size in inches. So put it all together and the 305/85 16 is about 12 inches wide and 36. 4 inches tall. The 315s are about 1 cm wider and about 1 inch shorter.

I just live with the rubbing because it is only the last 1/4 turn of the wheel and I am afraid the truck will eat ball joints if I were to go with a wider or offset wheel. I had 315/75 16s on it before and they rubbed at the same point, the last 1/4 turn. Hope this all helps.

Carli Suspension just came out with their control arms. They are a bit more pricey than the DT Fab but you totally get what you pay for. Instead of being cheap mild steel they are made of 4130 Chromoly and are TIG welded instead of MIG for superior strength. Also instead of the cheap polyurethane bushings that squeak and blow out after a few thousand miles these feature Superflex joints that have a unique design much like that of a heim joint but using thick delrin instead of a thin teflon liner. The joints are also adjustable so as they wear out you can just adjust the preload ring tighter. The same type of joints just smaller were used on a jeep speed race vehicle for an entire season with such minimal wear that they didn't even have to adjust the preload ring at the end of the season. Check them out at:

The FOX Racing Shox / Dirtnewz.com Dodge 3500 DRW truck and 40' race hauler trailer features Carli Suspension 4130 trailing arms and of course the entire Carli Suspension with FOX 2. 5 Shox.

The manufacturing, welding and design of the trailing arms are superb. Check out the design when you get a chance at thecarlisuspension website. The joints are well-built and like Baja Mike said... will last a very long time under desert racing conditions let alone highway conditions.

We installed them just prior to the last 6,500 mile road trip that I just returned from on Wednesday evening and all I can say is we haul the mail without any doubts at all. Oo.

The truck/trailer combo completely loaded with race truck, parts and all... weighs in at 2&,)&#@ lbs... .

We're running 19. 5 Toyo's on MHT Wheels and we're powered by big ATS power.

I would suggest you go with arms that have some flex unlike the DTs that will flex even less than the stock arms. I personally made my own using Johnny Joints on one end. There are more pictures on my mods page in the signature.
