Off Roading Whats The Biggest Size Tire On Duals

I WANT TO PUT ON SOME MUDDERS LIKE BFGs . I WANT TO KEEP MY STOCK RIMS,AND AVOID REAR WHEEL SPACERS IF POSSIBLE.

IF I HAVE TO RUN SPACERS I WANT TO USE MY DODGE WHEELS,ONE SPACER SUPPLIER TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO USE FORD OUTER WHEELS BECAUSE THE I. D. IS LARGER. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE HAD THIS PROBLEM?

AGAIN WHAT SIZE W/O SPACERS____________

AND WITH SAY 2" SPACERS? ____________

Look up member y-knot he can give you the details on spacers and sizes. I have 255/85 BFG MT's on my dually as do many on this site but it's a 2001 and has wider spacing. I believe your truck will only take 235's without spacers

If you have the 7 hole dually wheels you can fit the 255's if you have the 4 hole wheels you can fit the 235's with out rubbing. To go any bigger you'll need spacers. The 235's are 32 inches tall and the 255's are 33. 2 inches tall. The only down side to the 255's is they are load range D and not E like the 235/85's.

I am looking for a good agressive mud type tire, I have considered going to a single rear wheel but don't want to lose the stability or load capacity of a dually.

I want a tire as tall and wide as I can get but with a very agressive mud style tread patern. I feel it will never happen..... to much to ask. :{

PM member JGheen. He's running 37" Super Swamper SSR's on his dually. He has them mounted on Alcoa wheels. He was also running 38" Boggers for off-road use. I believe they were mounted on his stock steel wheels. Super Swamper SSR's are a pretty aggressive radial mud tire, Load Range "E", and wear pretty well. He should be able to help you out.

Not at all Glen, that is actually a older pic but does the thread justice.



WBraico, the spacers you are refering to are just that. They are made by Arrowcraft Conversions and yes you have to run a Ford outer wheel for the spacer to work as the stock Dodge wheel will not work due to the centering hub is too small. The spacer is 2" wide and has a machined centering hub on the outer side of it which only allows you to run a Ford designed wheel. The studs for the outer wheel are also larger than the Dodge. I just live with it, don't rotate my tires and have a Front Dodge Alcoa, stock rear Dodge inner steelie and Ford outer Alcoa. All have 37" SSR Swampers mounted. I run some 38. 5"x11x16 Boggers on another set of stock steelies but I still have to run a outer Ford wheel for the rear outer. Kinda sucks but I live with it.

Well I got it STUCK!!! just a few hours ago :-laf :-laf

Droped the front end off in a BIG hole..... was pulled out by a GM and Ferd (yes both at one time!)

I need some tires! Wish I would have got some pics

Check with performancewheel.com. I'm hoping to get some 2" spacers to run 35/10. 5/16's or 305/85/16's soon as my Truxxus 255/85's wear out.
