Last weekend mgoncalves and I did the LP conversion to Pusher pump setup, it is sweet!! We used 1/2" ID Line and high pressure Hydraulic fittings all around. Totally solved my low fuel pressure problems. Once I get the photos downloaded I'll have to fiquire out how to post em! Oo.

Heres my dilemna, just the other day when I set the box up on 45% or greater and enjoy the power the pump (which is now mounted on the frame roughly under the Quad Cab seat) makes this god awful screeching sound until you back down on the power. Fuel Pressure light on the FMS isnt coming on and it doesnt appear to be having FP at all. Whats wierd is it took a couple days of use before this occurence started. Is my LP on its way out or could it maybe have been doing this when it was in its stock location and I just couldnt hear it? Last question, are these pumps waterproof to the outside elements?

TIA for any help, I am bafled here!

I suppose it could be but it sounds so much like its comin from under my seat which is pretty close to where the pump is.

I suspect a boost leak on the drivers side INTERCOOLER to Intake piping connection boot. Take a look and see if it is torn or the clamp is loose. Mine sounded like it was IN my seat.

I chased down my boots enough times to be on a reaaal close relationship ('Til I divorced them ALLL And got PDR boots) And the screech you describe is classic when the Box is turned up creating more fuel to create morre boost to create more screetch from a boost leak.

I could be waaay off but I got a hunch.

As for the Pump ... . protect it. Mine self destructed in less than a year after the road salt got to it from winter. Now My Pe Pump is going into a housing as soon as I can get to it.

I agree. We chatted about this in the planning stages in regards to the PE4200 having the same failures due to the elements. A project box from Radio Shack that the pump fits in should work OK.

When you check your intercooler lines, check for tears (or pin holes) in the bottom two next to the fender.

Yep, box for the pump in the making!!

I will check on the boots, I glanced at em yesterday when fueling up and couldnt see anything but will crawl under the beast and tinker around today. I am thinking more and more that it is indeed a boost leak.

Yo TMTT, are those boots difficult to install? Sure not a lot of room around there and those things look stiff!! Are they difficult?
