i am almost done head gasketing my truck and will be torquing it sometime tomorrow, searched the internet and here and can't find the pattern, i have a marine stock thickness gasket and haisley studs, also installing a ats 3 piece manifold and i can't wait to see if it does anything for my egt's or spooling, the orignal had shrunk to the point it had cracked two of the end bolts and they snapped right off, you could see the dark part where it was already cracked and the shiney fresh break

nope, got the studs on ebay cheep with no papers, the poundage i've seen runs fron 96-125 i was thinking about a nice split of 110# with several retorques but the only thing i've seen on pattern is line torquing when you change them one at a time

Clean out all holes in block with a 12m x 1. 75 (I think- just from memory) bottoming tap.

Tighten studs into block, but not torqued.

Lube stud threads that go in block with clean motor oil. Paint on with brush or dunk them in a small cup of oil as I did.

Lube the heck out of the nuts, both sides of the washers, and nut

end threads of the stud with ARP moly lube.

Torque to 50lbs, 100lbs, then 125lb following Cummins sequence.

Run engine to operating temp, check retorque to 125lbs, set valves . 08/. 18 hot.

I could have left out some info, just going on memory, don't have the instructions in front of me.

Edit, I didn't draw a very good picture.

6 Short studs- on exhaust side of engine are 19, 11, 3, 6, 14, 22.

14 Medium studs- middle two rows are 23/24, 15/16, 7/8, 2/1, 10/9, 18/17, 26/25.

6 Long studs- rocker tower are 20, 12, 4, 5, 13, 21.

You might try drawing a picture of the cylinder head, intake on one side, exhaust on the other, and just label all head bolt holes and number them. Not sure how clear that was... .
