But seriously our little 8006 Sundowner is a great trailer easy pulling fully loaded with 4 horses, hay, water, clothes, and food even with our 2500

How about Kiefer Built trailers??

We can get you one , but we are in NC.

Check out www.diamondvtrailers.com

We are the largest KB dealer in the nation.

They offer a 3 year hitch to bumper warranty.

8 year structual warranty.

And the industry's ONLY 3 YEAR NO LEAK WARRANTY.

Best trailer for the money IMHO.

Here's a question for you fellows with the newer style trailers - Do those trailers with the hay rack on top come with a winch to load the hay and saddles, or is it "monkey up the ladder" for everything that goes up there?

I am mighty lazy in my old age, not anxious at all to lug a bunch of hay and saddles up a ladder. In the older trailers we always just put the hay and feed and saddles in the very front and up on the gooseneck shelf. The old gooseneck shelf made a good place to sleep too, all you needed was a pad and a sleeping bag. Nowadays that area is all living quarters... .

Update

Not getting the trailer just yet... . gotta save some more pennies. :(

As far as loading stuff onto the hay rack, we typically store feed and our portable pannels up there. For loading hay, if you can pull into your local feed store, they will usually load it with their tractor, or if you get your feed delivered in stacks, you can pull next to the stack. We have a tractor, so that's how we load all ours.

thanks for all the advice guys, TDR is great!
