Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) What's the weight of 47RE Auto Transmission?

I want to remove my auto transmission and was wondering about the weight of it and a full stock torque converter? I'm planning on using a 3 ton jack with a transmission adapter base with straps. I'm guessing it's about 300 lbs, but not sure. Thanks. Herb

I think it is quite a bit more heavier then you think at least 450 lbs to around 600lbs if I had to venture a guess #@$%!#@$%!#@$%!#@$%! :-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf

I can pick one up without the torque convertor so it can't weigh all that much. It's just awkward.

Recently got a rebuilt trans from Goerend Bros. Shipping weight with TC and flexplate was 315 pounds. Mike

That sounds about right with the crate and other packageing.

According to Issue 58 the 48RE weighs 248 pounds but doesn't say if it includes the TC or fluids, but the 47 should be a few pounds lighter.
